The next few days were full of stolen, sneaky kisses and touches that went unnoticed. The girls announced that they needed to do school work but appeared sporadically when food was on offer. Last night they sat around the fire pit and toasted marshmallows on wooden skewers. Yeona and Jia couldn't wait to get into bed to gossip about how their Fathers were unable to keep their eyes off of each other across the flames. The girls had been noticing the interaction between their fathers more and more and were completely convinced that they needed a push to get together.
"Okay, so every time we sit down, we make sure they sit together and they do. We've seen the hand touches when they think we aren't looking or maybe we are just imagining that?" Jia says as she reads from the little notebook they've been adding to.
"I don't think my Appa needed to stand so close behind TaeTae when he was making breakfast this morning. Did you write that in?"
"I'm writing that now. What about when we went to the supermarket yesterday? They went red when we told them we are cooking them food today."
"Yeah that was odd. Sometimes I think something is going on then other times I don't know? I think we just need to go all out on the romance and see what happens?"
"They are getting on well at least. They were laughing about something yesterday and my Appa has been talking a lot about himself which is strange."
"That's the bit I wrote in the book about when they were talking about their favourite places to eat out. I wrote that my Appa suggested they go for food in the new year... my Appa does not go anywhere apart from work or shopping. I mean... they could just be friends, I suppose but I think it was a date."
"I think so too. I've seen my Appa go out with friends and seen him with his old boyfriend and I am telling you that he likes Jungkook-ssi. They keep looking at us when they talk and my Appa stopped talking completely the other day... oh and the biggest thing? My Appa has stopped asking me to fill the dishwasher."
"My Appa helps him." Yeona frowns, not quite seeing the relevance.
"Exactly! They are doing it together... and we get to go and do whatever we want to do. They want to be alone, I swear it, Yee!"
"I guess we'll find out tomorrow if they enjoyed time alone? I'm sad that it's new years eve tomorrow, it's been the best two weeks ever."
"But we get to spend new year together and have fun. My Appa always gets the soju out on new years eve and he's so funny when he's drunk. We usually play charades and I always trick him and win. He doesn't really celebrate his birthday today so I think he drinks extra on new year's eve." Jia giggles.
"Your Appa liked the card we made for him, though. I felt bad because my Appa didn't know until we gave the card. We should play charades tomorrow night! It's going to be better than that silly game they suggested the other day... that one about favourite things."
"It was boring because we know everything about each other. I was so happy when the Gems went live and we could leave the room."
Yeona laughs, "The Gems totally saved us from the Appas and their stupid game."
Jia makes a few more notes in the book, "We should start getting food ready and we need to ask about later."
"I've got the instructions on my phone. Are we still having the snowball fight on new years day?"
"I think we should. New years day is better than doing it tomorrow. Do you think your Appa is back now?"
Yeona shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know. Let's go and see."
The girls close the notebook and make their way downstairs to where Tae is sitting at the table with some papers and his laptop in front of him.
"Is Jungkook-ssi back yet, Appa?"
