JOURNEE DAVIS bopped her head to the music blasting through her earphones, as she pulled into an empty parking space and parked her brand new Lexus in the Beverly high school's parking lot.

Journee took her keys out the ignition and began gathering her stuff, eager to get to class.

HONK!

HONK!

Journee looked out the window and saw her best friend, Olivia Baker, parked beside her, as she waved excitedly. Journee flashed a smile, pulling out her earphones and rolling down her window.

"Hey, best friend!" Journee greeted, waving back at her. "What's up?" Olivia replied, opening her car door and stepping out the vehicle. "How are you this morning?" Journee asked, getting out the car and walking over to her.

"I'm okay, I guess." Olivia responded, shrugging her shoulders.

"So, I stopped by the house to pick you up, and Layla said you weren't there." Olivia stated. "Yeah, I spent the night at my mom's house." Journee told her and she nodded. "How is she doing?" Olivia asked. "She's better. Thanks for asking." Journee answered.

"Of course, girl." Olivia remarked.

Journee walked into Beverly High, with Olivia Baker and they both made their way to their lockers.

"So, is it just me or does this place get bigger every year?" Journee asked. "I know right, it definitely seems that way." Olivia agreed. "Okay, so I'm not crazy, then." Journee laughed. "No, you're still crazy, just right." Olivia replied, with a smirk.

"Oh, shut up." Journee retorted, nudging her.

Journee and Olivia reached their lockers, which were right next to each other. They both put in their combinations and opened up their lockers, before unloading their backpacks, full of textbooks.

"So, have you talked to my brother lately?" Olivia asked, causing Journee to roll her eyes. "No, have you talked to my cousin, lately?" Journee retorted, making Olivia sigh. "Yes, I did. This morning, when I tried to come pick you up." Olivia said. "Girl, you know what I mean." Journee scoffed.

"Listen, Layla and I just drifted apart. You, however, broke up with Jordan, through text, because of some rumors that turned out to not even be true." Olivia spoke, making Journee sigh.

"Look, regardless, if the rumors were true or not, he moved on pretty quickly, with that Hadley chick, so I doubt he even cares." Journee said.
