As we were eating our KFC dinner I got a new text.

unknown number:

I am so done with you and your behaviour! How can you put your family in such a position. Maybe your young mind thought I'd be a "rad" idea to just leave your home town with a random guy you met online? But I'm sorry to break it for you, it's not!

Now, I don't really care about your consequences at all but your family is going crazy! Have you even thought about your parents? Your school friends? Your other family members? Other friends? You have hurt them for basically preferring a random online lad over them. And I as one of your closets family members am very ashamed of having you as part of our family. If you hadn't noticed yet with your young brain, I'm mad at you! And not only mad but also just as disappointed as your parents.

You didn't bother to finish your education, you didn't say goodbye, you didn't ask permission either!

In short, you lost all of our respect due to your miserable behavior. I have convinced both of your parents in breaking up all contact with you.

And you know what, I actually really hope that lad of yours is a catfish after all. That he'll run away with your money or something. And if that happens, don't even think about coming back to us.

Have a nice day. Your one and only grandma.

I was crying by now and Luke had already moved to me to comfort me. He seemed to not have read the text yet but just kept on kissing my forehead.

"It's okay boo, it's okay. What's wrong boo?" He hugged me as I sobbed softly.

"My family Luke.." I muttered handing over my phone tears rolling down my cheeks.

"I thought I wouldn't need them, but what if I actually need them. I can't do anything about this anymore. They don't want m-me."

Thank God we were eating in the canteen and there were no other employees around because I really started to panic. Luke his eyes were focused on the screen of my phone. He bit his lip.

"You are not stealing my money right?" I started to get mad at myself.

"How could I ever think my parents weren't important."
