Chapter 2: Cat Girls are weird

"A portal," Ichike says calmly. Emma looks surprised and curious.

"How? Did you build a portal? Do you know the tall girl who showed up yesterday?" Emma asks. You hold her hand out to say stop.

"There is someone else here?" you ask. Emma doesn't answer. Hibiki brushes her hair out of her eye and sighs.

"It is almost night here. Do you kids live around here?" Hibiki asks them. Emma nods and Norman stares at Ichike.

"Yes we do there is the house is this way!" Emma says and starts walking through the brush as everyone else starts walking after her. In no time at all, you all reach the house and a swarm of children comes towards you and your friends.

"Everyone this is Y/N, Hibiki, and Ichike! They are going to be staying with us for a while! Anna where is X?" Emma asks a younger girl with white hair. The girl points over to a tree where a tall girl is sitting on one of the branches looking at us. Emma nods then turns to us.

"That is X. She is new here too. Gilda, can you bring them inside to meet Mom?" Emma asks a with green hair and a bob. The girl nods and grabs Hibiki and Ichike's hands and walks into a large house. You look at Emma.

"Can you bring to the new girl?" You ask her. Emma nods.

"She doesn't talk to us a lot and she doesn't like books! That is weird isn't it?" Emma says as you two walk over to the girl.

"X please come down. Someone is here to talk to you." The girl jumps down and looks you in the eyes. She was very pretty so to speak. She had weird hair and eyes; the top being brown and the bottom is green. The strangest thing was her ears or the lack of them. She had dull pink cat ears and tail and scars on her dark arms and legs. You look at her cause she looks pretty weird.

"You got a problem?" X asks rudely. You shake your head. X's tail twitches and a black-haired kid comes up behind her.

"Yo Emma it is just about dinner," the black-haired kid says.

"Thanks, Ray! Let's go!" Emma says grabbing X and your hands and running towards the large farmhouse. X didn't seem pleased but she runs alongside Emma anyways. You smile. 'This is going to be fun,' you think. You enter and house and see a large dining hall in which some smaller children are setting the tables for dinner. You see Ichike carries some plates and Hibiki chatting with the green-haired girl as they layout silverware. Emma lets go of your hand and X moves to the edge of the hall. Emma smiles sadly in X's direction.

"X is shy. She doesn't react well with new people but she is sweet," Emma tells you. You wonder why X is cold to you and most of the children if she was sweet to Emma, but then again who could be mean to Emma. A woman with tied-back black hair walks in with some children helping her carry out food. You feel bad for barging in unannounced so after she puts the food on the table you go to talk to her.

"Sorry for barging in Miss. I am Y/N Tokito and those are my friends Hibiki Uzui and Ichike Rengoku. We are Demon Slayers and we can ask the Demon Slayer Cor. to give you money to pay for food and shelter," you say spitballing. This woman gives you the creeps.

Time Skip

"Do you think we can trust them?" Emma asks Ray and Norman who are in the library talking. They nod and decide that tomorrow they would ask the Demon Slayers for help. In a small closet-sized room Isabella talks to HQ.

"They should up out of nowhere! What do I do?!" she asks.

"Ship out the catgirl in a month. Got that?" a man says from HQ.

"Sure, I will ship her out to you then," Isabella sighs.
