Sam walked down the hall of the bunker. Glancing in different rooms as he passed them. No luck, he went back dow the hallway and over to Deans room. His door was open and he was in there putting his own clothes away. Dean looked over as Sam walked in. "Hey." Dean smiled. "So I was thinking for dinner tonight we could try to make.." "Why did you bring me here?" Sam asked cutting Dean off. Dean looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?" Dean asked. "I didn't want you staying there, I.." "So that's it? You just had to help me?" Sam asked, Dean looked even more confused. "Of course I wanted to help you." Dean said. "So that's it? That's all this is?" Sam asked, clearly upset, unshed tears in his eyes. "Sam what are you even talking about.." "Do you even like me?" Sam asked. "Was this all just another case? Someone else to help?" Sam rambled. "You brought me back here because I'm some poor defenseless guy? Because that's all you do? You help just help people and nothing else?" "Sam, just hold on.." "You haven't kissed me since we were at that gas station. You only stay with me in my room when I have nightmares. You say you slept around a lot but you don't want to have sex with me? I'm just some charity case that you had to take.." "SAM!" Dean yelled cutting Sam off, voice raised to a point that Sam hadn't ever heard before. It scared him. He tensed slightly and snapped his mouth shut. "What the hell are you talking about? Where is this coming from?" Dean asked, not understanding why Sam was so upset. Sam stayed quiet for a moment. Eyes on Dean. "Do you even really care about me?" Sam asked softly. Dean shook his head rubbing a hand over his face. "Of course I do Sam why would you even ask something like that?" Dean asked. "Because it's all true. You don't... I.. I thought you liked me but ever since I got here it hasn't felt like that." "Of course I like you Sam." Dean said. "Just like all the other people you saved?" Sam mumbled softly. Dean took a deep breath and stepped closer to Sam.

"I don't know where all this is coming from but none of that is true. You're not a charity case. You're not some random person that I saved. I care about you Sam. I brought you here because I want you here." Dean told him as calmly as he could. "But all those other people.." "Sam there is no other person. No one else I've helped that I care for like I care for you." Dean said. "Yes I've helped a lot of people, maybe stuck around an extra day or two to make sure they got some help. But I have never brought anyone else here to the bunker. No one Sam, not anyone." Sam felt some slight relief in that. He slowly glanced at Dean. "No one? But Cas.." "He doesn't have a room here. He doesn't stay here. No one lives here but me, and now you." Dean said. Sam felt ashamed and a little embarrassed about how he was acting but his guard was still up. "As for everything else.." Dean continued. "I'm sorry if I havent been the most affectionate, if you felt like I didn't care. I just thought after everything you'd been through you'd want space." Dean said. Sam shook his head. "What if that's not what I wanted?" Sam asked. Dean took a deep breath. "I'm sorry." Dean said softly. "I should've asked you before making decisions about us. I just thought that's what you would've wanted.. but you also could've came and talked to me instead of accusing me of not liking you." Dean said. Sam bit his lip looking at the ground. "I'm sorry." He said softly.

Dean stepped closer. Gently lifting up Sams chin to meet his eye. "I'm sorry too. I need to work on communication with you. Honestly talking isn't something I'm good at, But I'll try. You just have to promise me you'll do the same thing. I can see why you're upset, just talk to me before blowing up at me again alright?" Dean said. Sam nodded slightly. never taking his eyes off of Dean. "Alright. I promise." He said softly. "Thank you." Dean said, gently rubbing his thumb over Sams chin. "Looks like I have a lot to make up for." Sam blushed at that, break eye contact and glancing at the ground. "You don't have to." He mumbled. Dean smiled seeing Sam blush. "I want to." Dean said, leaning up to kiss him. Sam smiled against his lips. Body relaxed. Kissing Dean back slowly. This, this is what he needed. What they both needed. Dean kissed him slow and soft, hands moving to frame Sams face. Sam almost melted against him, one hand on Deans side, the other sliding up Deans chest to rest on his jaw. Dean pulled back after a moment. Sams breathing heavier. Dean grinned and bit his lip. "I think that was long overdue." He said. Sam laughed softly and blushed. "Yeah.. Kinda was." Dean smiled. Hands rubbing Sams sides. "So what brought all this on? Just me being distant?" Dean asked, not wanting to make the same mistake again. Sam shook his head. "No, I was fine with it honestly. Castiel was just asking me questions because he didn't think we were really together.." "Cas said something to you?" Dean asked. Hands stilling on Sams sides. Sam nodded, not sensing how the mood just changed. "Yeah.. He didn't think you liked me because you save so many people like me, I guess he thought I was a charity case." Dean tensed slightly, jaw clenched. "He said that to you?" Sam nodded. "Yeah he did." Dean nodded slowly, lips pressed together in a fine line. "I need to go talk to him." Dean said, pulling away from Sam, heading out of the room. "Wait what? Why?" Sam asked, confused why he was leaving. Dean stopped in the doorway, glancing at Sam. "Just.. just stay here ok? I'll be right back, I just need to talk to him." And with that, Dean headed down the hall, jaw and fists clenched.

Dean walked down the hall to the research room. Silently praying to Cas. It was the way he got the angel to pop up when he needed him, and oh did Dean need him. Needed to knock some sense into him. "Cas!!" Dean yelled. "I Know you're here!" He glanced around the room until he heard the familiar voice. "Hello Dean." Dean whipped around. Glaring at him. "What the hell have you been saying to Sam?" Dean asked, almost growling. "I just asked him a few questions. It's not my fault he got upset." Castiel stated. "You knew exactly what you'd be doing." Dean hissed at him, stepping closer. "You made him upset on purpose." Despite what being told, Sam had left the room when he heard Dean yelling, standing by the doorway, out of sight, listening to them. "I told you what happened. I asked him some question and when he came to a realization on how things truly are.." "That's a fucking lie and you know it!" Dean yelled at him. "The truth is you're jealous. And that's to damn bad. You stay away from Sam and don't come over again unless theres serious problems." Dean told him. Castiel was silent for a moment. "Angels don't get jealous. Why would we ever be jealous of such flawed humans? And trust me Dean, the one you brought back has many of them." "You shut the hell up." Dean hissed at him, stepping up to Castiels face. Castiel remained unmoving. "He's broken even beyond my repair. I got a look into his mind when I healed him." "You stay out of his head you hear me? You only pop up here to visit when we allow it. You say or do one more thing, just one more time, I'll ward this place and you'll never get in." Dean said. Jaw clenched. He had enough. Castiel was quiet for a moment. "Until I need you again. Goodbye Dean." And disappeared.

Dean stood there, still fuming. He was pissed beyond belief. His heart pounding. "Dean?" Sams voice came from behind him. Dean closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Fuck. "How much of that did you hear?" Dean asked, slowly turning to face Sam. All of it, or close to that, but Sam didn't want to say that. What he heard Castiel say about him hurt. How he was broken. He knew in some ways he was, more mentally than physically, Castiel had healed his physical state but it would take a while for him to feel better mentally. "What did you mean by jealous?" Sam asked. "What would he be jealous of?" Sam asked. Dean looked at Sam, sighing softly. "Of you." Dean said. "Of the fact that. I'm with you.. and he's not with me." Sam was taken aback by that. "He.. but he's an angle. Why would he be jealous? And.. why wouldn't you want to be with him if he asked.. I mean he is an angel." Sam said, feeling even more insecure now. Dean shook his head and stepped closer to Sam. "No." Dean said. "Don't do that. Don't think like that. I don't like him like that Sam. Never have never will. He's not human, I don't want that." Dean explained. "I mean... he's not bad looking." Sam shrugged. Dean smiled softly and shook his head. "That's not even him Sam. Castiel doesn't have a body. He's an angel. He's just a soul inside a human vessel." Sams eyes widened. Both shocked and concerned. "He's.. he's what?" Sam asked. Dean cupped his cheek. "Don't worry about that right now. Just please trust me when I say I have no interest in being with him. None. I already found someone, someone Castiel could never be." Sam blushed slightly, looking down at the ground. "Even with how broken I am?" Sam asked softly.

Dean frowned. Eyes narrowed. "Don't pay any fucking attention to what he says." Dean said grabbing Sams chin, gently raising it so Sam would look at him. "He's a jealous bastard. Jealous of you despite what he said. He want's what he can't have. A life like this, to live like humans. He can't have it. Can't have me. I don't want him." Dean told Sam. "It's never gonna happen. Me and him, not before you, not now.. even if for some reason what we have doesn't work, it still won't be him." Sam felt his heart swell hearing that. Knowing that Dean didn't have any feelings towards the angel whatsoever, it made him feel a whole lot better about things. "Don't worry about him, don't listen to him. He ever pops up and starts talking shit again just call me over ok? I'll take care of him." Sam smiled. "Ok... Thank you." He said. "You're welcome." Dean said. Leaning up to kiss Sam, cupping his jaw as he did. Sam leaned into the kiss, smiling when Dean pulled back. ""How about we make some dinner?" Sam nodded. "Yeah, sounds good." Dean grinned, grabbing Sams hand, gently pulling him as he went to the kitchen. Sam laughed as he followed Dean. He wouldn't worry about Castiel. Not anymore. Angels seemed like dicks anyway.
