Lightbulb was awoken by the sound of repeated bumping and russling. She opened her eyes and noticed Blue sitting facing the wall. She rubbed her head and gripped the wall, pulling herself up again and fumbling around.
"Blue?"
"Hm! You're up?"
She spun around and looked in Lightbulb's general direction.
"Do you need help there?"
"Nope! Im good!"
She took a step forward and imitatly collapsed.
"It's- *grunt* a little hard to find my way around."Lightbulb sat up and immediately went for the window sill, ripping down the pole. "crash!" the pole sounded as it met the floor. "What was that?" blue asked. "You're solution!" Lightbulb answered. "Hm, Stay right here!" Lightbulb swung the door open and ran down the hallway. She knew exactly where we needed to go. She kicked open a room door, specifically trophy's door.
"What the hell?" he shouted. "You like sports don't you?" Trophy looked her up and down. "Yes?" he replied. "Do you have a tennis ball?"
"Will you leave me alone if i give you one?"
"Cross my heart and hope to die!"Trophy tossed a neon green ball at lightbulb who yelled thank you and slammed the door behind her, "One day in this hotel and shes already a menace..."
Lightbulb rushed back to their room and used Baxter to cut open the tennisball. She shoved the thin pole through the tennisball and used a ripped peice of the curtain as padding.
"What are you doing?" Blue asked from her own bed. "Hold on! I want to make sure this doesn't fall apart." She looked around and eventually ran out again. Leaving Blue alone again.
Blue stood again and tried to familiarize her surroundings. She felt the thick blanket that slipped off the bed and slacked under her feet.
She ran her hand across the board between the two beds made of a slick sanded wood. she ran her hand down and felt a metal bob. Of course! A bedside table. She pulled out the drawer noticing how light it was. She felt the contents, nothing but dust and air.
She closed the drawer and returned to the top again. She grabbed what she assumed Lightbulb was messing with. A thin, cold, metal rod with a padded handle on one end and a fuzzy ball on the other.
Lightbulb swung the door open again, which was directly opposite of where she was. She stepped back and tripped over her blanket and onto her bed. "Uf!" She yelled, bringing herself to a sitting position. She heard the sound of tape being unrolled. "What are you doing?" she asked. "You'll see! Or- rather you'll find out." Lightbulb replied.
Lightbulb handed her the padded side of the pole. "Its makeshift but its better than walking into walls isnt it?" Lightbulb held her hand and lifted her to her feet. "Okay now let's try walking!" Lightbulb said. "Alright easy enough!" Blue chimed.
Blue walked straight forward with the stick and imitatly stumbled, but catching herself. "I don't think thats how you use it." Lightbulb said chuckling. "I've never used a walking stick! I just have Painty help me around!"
"Here," lightbulb held Blue's hand and guided it back and forth. "Its supposed to give you an idea of whats in front of you without walking straight into it!"
"How do you know this?"
"Not sure!"Blue took a few steps forward swinging the pole in front of her. "Thud!" The walking stick hit something. Blue attempted to put her hand on the wall and when her hand passed through where it should be she realized it was the bed. She turned and walked forward until her stick hit another wall. She placed her hand on the wall and ran it across until her hand hit the cold knob. "I did it! I got to the door!" she took a careful step backwards as she opened it.
"See? I knew you'd catch on fast. We're smart after all aren't we?" She said in a joking tone "why don't we practice more in the hallway"
"Sure!"The two of them started walking through the hotel hallways. At first, tumbling over a few times but the longer they walked the better and more confident she got. Eventually the two of them were chatting and walking at a normal speed.
"How did you get your scars?"
"Oh! The scars? Well I'm not too sure of the specifics but it probably has to do with the experiments. "
"Experiments?"
"Oh! That's right I haven't told you huh? Well then ignore what i said"
"You can't just leave me at that! What happened."
"Please. I just don't want to talk about it."
Her voice lowered to a wimper. Lightbulb decided to end it there."Hey you two!" Oj yelled. He ran over to both of them who spun around to face him. He was panting when he finally stopped. "We're getting in the car to go to the hospital- get ready." He took a deep breath and handed lightbulb the keys. "Do NOT drive, you can sit inside though. I'll be out after i finish some things." They heard someone calling for him from behind. "Coming!" he replied and was off again.
"You ready? We're going to have to explain this to her." Lightbulb said.
"Of course! I doubt she'll take it that hard! I didn't!"(( word count 894))
((Tee hee this was one of the things i wanted to do when I came up with the concept! ie lightbulb is lovely I'll never get sick of writing about her. Also if i forget to mention it next chapter, although hopefully i won't, its currently Wednesday in the story 👍))
