P.W: I said what I said

It was cold and cozy Friday night tonight as I wait for a cab on my way home. I am not sure if I could still get a cab because it's now too late when I finished working.

Suddenly there was a car that stopped in front of me, I was so shocked.

This car was so familiar to me, it looks like I have seen this car a couple of times years ago. And as the car's window go down then I realized that I am right, it was his car, and he was there.

"Hi, Olivia, going home?" I couldn't answer, I was still in shock about seeing him after all these years.

"Y-yes Mi-kko " I uttered.

"Hop in, I'll drive you home" is this even happening? I asked in my mind.

"No, t-thank you, I'll just wait for a cab"

Then there was a flash of sudden lightning and thunderclap. Geez, it looks like it's going to rain.

"You wouldn't like to be soaked in rain, right? Let's go it'll rain in a few moments now."

I don't know what to do so I just went inside taking each step with deep breaths.

After I seated, I scanned around my eyes inside the car.

Oh my, his family is here.

"Hi Ija, long time no see, how are you doing?" his mom asked me as she turned around because she's in the front seat of the car.

"Im okay po tita, kayo po?" I asked, this lady and I we're very close.

"I'm okay too, it was a long time since we've met, what are you up to now?"

"Yeah, tita you're right it is really a long time. Me? I am now teaching secondary education po."

"Wow, I know you and I'm pretty sure you would come this far." then she smiles at me

"Thank you tita" I smiled at her too.

Then after a few moments, where the chitchats are over, silence embraced us inside this car.

I just look outside and oh! it is raining. Yeah right. I looked at him, he was driving and carefully looking at the road. I fell asleep, and when I noticed the car had stopped, I looked outside, and it was my house.

He still remembers.

Good timing that the rain also stopped.

"Thank you for the ride, Miko, and goodbye everyone, thanks a lot"

"Goodbye Ija, take care!" Tita said

"Yes Tita, I will, and please take care too"

I said my goodbyes to the family because I know that we may not see each other again. Yes, I knew them all. After I bid my goodbyes, I heard that the car door opens. And then I saw him walking towards me. I couldn't even move until I get completely stuck when he suddenly hugged me.

We stayed in that position for a while for I cannot move away from him because I'm completely stunned.

"Olivia, I missed you so much, I'm really sorry...really sorry Olivia," he uttered as I heard him sobbing.

I reclaimed myself and moved backward as I lose his grip.

"And again, thank you for the ride, Miko"

I didn't turn around for I am sure that my tears eventually start to fall, I am that fragile when it comes to him. So, I ran and went inside the house and watched by the window how they drove away.

Later that evening, when I am on my bed thinking of what had happened earlier.

I just couldn't imagine after how many years of no contact and interactions, we would see each other in that unexpected situation.

*Ziiit. ziitttt. *

My phone just vibrated. It was a call from his older sister.

"Hello ate Shick?" I asked.

"Hi Olivia, I know what happened between you and Miko and it was awful, but I don't wanna see my brother being in pain all this time, after riding you home, he was so quiet, and I could see the pain in his eyes."

I went silent, yeah...I know what ate Shick is feeling, she's concerned for his little brother.

But this time, I will choose myself first and no one else but me.

"I'm sorry Ate Shick, but the two of us are over, our story already ended a long time ago. No more next chapter and definitely no more epilogue."

"But why would you not give him a chance?"

"I wanted to, I mean I did many times...but it's like we're on the same road, and we are taking opposite directions. We may encounter each other in the same intersection multiple times, but we cannot have the same journey together."

"Is this final Olivia?" she asked me.

"I'm sorry but it is, I already told him a year ago, that if he's going to stay out of my life he should be gone forever." then I took a deep breath...and spoke,

"Pagsinabi ko,sinabi ko. Hindi ko iyon babawiin, it's final. Even if I wanted to, I can't do anything to change situations like this. He already married my best friend anyways. And I can't afford to betray her even if she's no longer here."

I ended the call and let everything out.
