The soft winter breeze brushed past making your body shiver slightly, leaving goosebumps upon your skin, the breeze, it was familiar to you, yet so.... distant. Ah, that's why...It reminded you of him. Your lover boy, he was the one you longed for so close yet so far from your reach. You swore you could hear his laughs and voice carried through the wind. The memories of him so distant, but you held onto them tighter than ever.

You hadn't seen him since the war. Since he promised to return and disappeared into the night. That night when the city of Mondstadt was attacked and set to war. Too Much blood was shed, there was much loss at the hands of the Fatui harbingers. Everyone who could fight was sent out to protect the city, there were many deaths that followed. The fatui had tried to use Dvalin against your city but when it all failed, they decided they had no use for Mondstadt, and they might as well have destroyed it. I mean what's a kingdom without a ruler anyways.

Mondstadts archon was nowhere to be seen. That was until the battle went down, people who survived told the tale of the sighting of Barbatos, his angelic wings which spread wide and although without a gnosis he defended Mondstadt with his life. And so, he did, with his life. Within the process of saving his kingdom... he too went down with the harbingers. Although we won there was great losses.

But that didn't matter to you, you were longing for you bard, free spirited and yet so wise with his words, the playful young boy you had fell in love with. Not some god who died in a war. His name was Venti, the one you could never quite take your eyes off, you'd fallen head over heels for the young and mischievous boy. I mean, who wouldn't? With His alluring features anyone could fall for this boy by just glancing at him. His restless green eyes which always seemed to shimmer with delight, his lavish blue braids which would twirl within the breeze of the afternoon, his smooth skin which left such a delicate touch upon yours. And oh, who could forget, nothing other than his soothing voice. when he sung it's like all that surrounded disappeared and there was simply nothing but you and the story he ought to tell from his adventures. It was almost angelic that voice of his.

You sighed and repositioned yourself, resting upon his favorite spot, a branch high up in the massive oak tree that rested within wind rise. It stood tall swaying in the chilling winter breeze which rustled its leaves creating a soothing sound. You swore it was almost as if it was magical. Resting your head, you slumped it into your knees which you pulled closer, you missed him, and no matter what you did, no matter how much you tried to distance yourself from the memory of the bard you always came right back.

Sitting in his spot you were hit the memory of when he sung to you, for an apple of course. You giggled at the thought, he loved apples so much. Oh, how you longed to be near him again, to feel the warmth of his touch and the comfort of his voice. When he sung for you, it was beautiful the way he strung the lyre he held dearly so gracefully and his angelic like voice that echoed throughout Windrise.

Although, that was all but a memory now.

You always came Right back to where the memory of him lingered most, too many memories were made here to ever forget. From your first kiss, to when he finally confessed to you and asked you to be his lover. And... where he promised he'd return. You see back in the war all those years ago, he was sent to fight as he had an anemo vision. He fled into the night but never returned. And as the war was ended, he was nowhere to be found... it's as though he disappeared without a trace? It was strange. But he hadn't returned, years had passed and there was no sign of your lover. Whatever hope you had left was slowly fading away. And the worst part was you had no idea where he had gone, no idea why he left and... no idea if he was even still alive.

~Next day~

The sun shone brightly through the window and the birds chirped in the early morning crisp, slowly opening your eyes to the appeased sight of this winter's first snow. Excitedly you rose from your bed quickly, too quickly and you stumbled over onto your stomach. You got up dusting yourself off and rubbing your tired eyes, you could almost hear venti giggling at you for stumbling. That's... if he was there, but he wasn't. You look down at your chest, where the shining aqua gem he carried around everywhere lay. He gave it to you as a gift for your birthday, he saved up so much money over month and months of performing to afford the sterling silver chain it hung on. You cherished it more than anything. With a large sigh you dragged yourself across your room to your wardrobe to dress up, it was a chilly winter day, so you grabbed your coat along with your scarf.

Walking out your door you felt a rumble in your stomach, you were quite hungry, so you set off to grab food at good hunters before you headed off to work. Upon your arrival you greeted Sara with a warm smile. "Hello sara!" you said with a happy chime as you spoke mist escaping your mouth it was so cold. "Hey y/n! just the usual?". You nodded reaching to your coats pocket to grab your purse "oh don't worry about paying today, it's on the house" she said kindly sensing how sad you were and turning to prepare your fruity skewer. Something kaeya had once recommended, it's now turned into your usual order, enough for sara to know anyways.

With your order packed neatly sara turn to you, looking reluctant to ask something you looked at her confused. With a sigh she spoke softly and with empathy, "So have you heard anything about venti? I mean not to pry but it's been years since... well you know he disappeared". Unappeased to her question your face turns expressionless "No. I haven't heard anything yet." But before you could get a response you snatched your food and stormed off towards the tavern, where you work.

With your head down you wondered the streets of Mondstadt's city, your food still warming your hand you can't help but not feel hungry anymore. Your hunger was overcome with gloom, you missed him too much. So much it hurt. With a depressed atmosphere you headed into the tavern and as soon as you did tears streamed down your face, it was becoming too much to handle.

Wiping the last tears that fell on your face you entered work with a fake smile. Greeting the regulars on your way in you can't help but remember. The memory of when you first met. It was a long night after work you were just about to head off your shift when a gem caught your eye. He was surrounded by people dancing and shouting he was being handed drinks as what seemed to be payment? Either way he was truly beautiful to you all his features were absolutely astounding to look at you practiclay started drooling. "Ehe!~ another performance anyone? A-all I need is a drink *hiccup* heh~!" he shouted across the tavern before he stumbled forward passing out. You rushed over towards the young boy he looked your age worried you tried to check if he was conscious shaking him but you had no response. The crowd the surrounded him dispersed and none of the stupid drunks offered to help. With a heavy sigh you picked the boy up bride carry style and decided to take him home, where at least he'd be safe. On your way you couldn't help but look at the sleeping beauty, his long lashes and delicate figure. In your eyes you adored him, he was so pretty you couldn't help but lightly blush at just the sight of him.

But before you could finish the thought of it you were interrupted by someone yelling your name. "y/n!"
