- You are Althea Candella and your family and you just moved into a new home, the village of Encanto. You have a mother named 'Magnolia Candella' and an older brother named 'Jaime Candella'. However, let's just say that your brother's not so close to you as much as he is to your mother and all the villagers of Encanto. You actually aren't the energetic type of person. You prefer to sulk in the corner and read a book but this time, your brother forcefully dragged you with him in front of your new home as your mother hung countless herbs and colorful flowers as decorations.
"Behold, ¡mi hermosa hermana!"
"The house is beautiful, isn't it? This was my idea!"
Jaime confidently bragged, rubbing your head while your mother made her way to the ground using a ladder.
"Yeah, yeah. It was your idea."
You spoke irritatingly. Meanwhile, your mother, Magnolia walked towards the both of you, staring at the beautiful house. You are now in between of them, pouting. You are actually happy about moving to Encanto. The people, based on your observation, seem like the type of people you can trust. You were upset of your father's sudden disappearance but also hateful of him at the same time for abandoning you so naturally, you need something to distract you and here it is, the miracle of your own. Your brother immediately left both you and your mother to help Luisa, one of the Madrigals throw some donkeys in the air.
"Mamá."
"I heard that the Madrigals are magically gifted. Is that true?"
Magnolia eyes you carefully, holding your chin, her brown eyes piercing yours.
"Yes, that is true, Althea."
"They have their own doors, that is what Abuela said. Each of the doors however, will give you a miracle, a power that will resemble your entire soul."
You raised an eyebrow, quite confused of what your mother was talking about but also intrigued at the same time. A part of you want to know more about this miracle but you're afraid of the consequences. The day eventually ended with you lying on your bed, struggling to sleep with the thought of the existence of what you refer to as 'magic'.
The next day, you woke up from your deep slumber and ate breakfast as always. Your brother is currently out of the village for a reason that you do not want to know so you're technically free to explore the village today without your brother making fun of you. You hurried downstairs as you slightly lifted off your floral dress. Before you could open the door, your mother's footsteps startled you.
"Althea, where are you going?"
She asked with curiosity in her eyes, carrying a basket filled with different kinds of fruits.
"Uhh... I want to err... Explore?"
She irked an eyebrow, staring at you awkwardly.
"Mamá, don't get me wrong! I just want to know what Encanto looks like from the outside."
"I promise I will not trouble you!"
Your mother walked towards you, handing you the fruit basket and you took it without hesitation.
"Perfect. On your way out there, I want you to give these lovely fruits to Mirabel Madrigal."
"It's a thank you for letting us live in this enchanted village of theirs."
Mirabel Madrigal? You've certainly heard of her but the only problem is, you do not know what she looks like.
"Mirabel... Madrigal?"
You whispered to yourself as your mother gently pushed you out of the door.
"But mamá, I do not know what she looks like-"
