An average lengthened, black-haired girl, otherwise known as Akuma Rosewood stares at the sky through the window of her room as she clenches her hand into a fist, gritting her teeth in disappointment and frustration.
"...Why?" asked Akuma, clenching the rejection letter from U.A. as her tears fell down to her cheeks.
"Why have I been rejected?" she asked once more until she was interrupted by loud footsteps.
"Akuma!" yelled a familiar voice that later smashed Akuma's room door open. It was Akuro Rosewood, Akuma's father alongside Ume Rosewood, Akuma's mother.
"Now, now. Judging by your reaction, you've been rejected, haven't you, child?" asked Akuro, walking towards Akuma as Ume trailed silently behind him.
"What do you want?" asked Akuma, wiping her tears away before tilting her head to the side.
"Now, don't sound rude. I'm your father, after all." said Akuro, forcefully taking the crumpled rejection letter away from Akuma's grasp, reading it.
"I told you, child. U.A. is no good! The hero society is just plain trash." he remarked straightforwardly, later pulling Akuma violently to face him.
"Just leave me alone, you stupid old man! I just got rejected. What do you think I would be interested in doing? Listen to all your useless remarks?!" Akuma yelled.
On the other hand, Akuro's eyes widened in shock at what Akuma just said. For some reason, he was surprised. Akuma actually never talked and yelled back to him regardless of how verbally and physically abusive he was.
"You, ungrateful brat!" growled Akuro, slapping Akuma on the face with his hand that left a mark of red hand on her face, her glasses shattered on the floor.
"I can't believe you. Your mother and I worked so hard to raise you and you're just going to yell at me?!" asked Akuro aggressively.
"Worked so hard, you say? Tell me, Father. Did you and Mother have fun working as vigilantes while I get mistreated at school?! You're filthy and I am ashamed of you! How long have you been abusing me? The hero society should've known about this!" howled Akuma in anguish.
"YOU—" as Akuro was about to hit Akuma using a bat this time, Ume stopped him by embracing him from behind.
"Darling, that's enough. I beg of you!" insisted Ume, burying her face on Akuro's shoulder as her tears fell down to her cheeks.
"...You both are unsightly." stated Akuma, wiping her tears.
"I hate you." she added before storming out of her room without a warning.
A week after that violent argumentation, Akuma decided to stay at her uncle's place, Hiroshi Rosewood, Ume's elder brother. She never really thought she'd get rejected. Therefore, as she walked down the cheerful street leading to Hiroshi's place, she had to constantly avoid making conversation with the wandering children around. She actually had to pursue a non-hero course. Although that upset her as much as that of Airi Rosewood, her uncle's wife, they couldn't do anything.
"I wonder if he's okay." said Akuma under her breath as she stopped by a specific playground just near Hiroshi's house, childhood memories flooding her mind.
"...Tamaki Amajiki. Did you successfully get in U.A. High School?" asked Akuma, breaking her stare from the playground only to continue walking.
"Well, it's only fair. You're brilliant unlike me." she added, ignoring the thoughts away.
3 years later, Akuma can be seen running from school only to stop in the dark alleyway shaking uncontrollably due to anger.
