Bringing Max back with the alien pacemaker and the heart transplant didn't come without its consequences as they knew from previous experiences and Max's warnings that bringing someone back like Max had done with Rosa causes him to absorb some kind of dark energy that in the past had caused Max to have surges that caused blackouts and fusing lights. However this time there was no telling how bad the effects would be as Max had absorbed ten years worth of dead bad energy meaning they had to find a safe way from Max to get rid of that energy before he hurt someone. The plan was to wait for Max to wake up before bringing him to their makeshift lab that was surrounded by abandoned land to allow Isobel to be able to confront him enough to expel that energy despite the risks that the plan held.

" You shouldn't have brought me back" Max said angry that no one had listened to him or his warnings about the risks that bringing him back held as Isobel threw him through the door
" You know, I was willing to let you go, Max, until I realized you were sacrificing yourself again" Isobel said understanding why Michael always got annoyed at Max and his self sacrificing ways
" Don't come any closer, I'm warning you" Max said holding back as Isobel used her abilities to push him causing him to wonder what else had changed over the last few months since she seemed stronger
" Fight me. Come on! Think you're some kind of killer? Huh? Then do it!" Isobel said as she goaded him as they began to fight before Max decided enough was enough as he knocked her to the ground
" Is this what you wanted?" Max said wondering if she was satisfied now that he had fought back as he was trying to restraint himself before he hurt the one person he had always tried to protect in life as Isobel fought back
" You absorbed the toxicity of Rosa's death, and now you need to expel it, Max. Cause an earthquake. Cause a blackout. Come on, Max. Hit me!" Isobel said before Max released a small portion of the energy
" Isobel!" Michael said from outside as he took the darkened weather and the lightening to be a sign that something alien was going on as he shared a concerned look with Malia about this plan of theirs
" that has to be them! We need to move quickly before something goes terrible wrong!" Malia said as they got out of the truck as Malia worried about how much damage Max would be able to cause
" I told you I would rather die than kill you but you wouldn't listen!" Max said to Isobel who was still on the ground recovering from the small shake that Max caused as she worried about the outcome a he got ready to use the lightening on her
" Max! Stop! Not on her, not like this" Michael said as he used his telekinesis to prevent Max's lightening from hitting Isobel as him and Malia entered the room as Max began to attack them both
" No. No... Don't do it, Max. Max, your heart..." Isobel said worrying about him undoing everything that had been working on as he began to harness more of the lightening to attack them with
