Snatcher Dates Hat Kid's Mom - Sneak Peek

Hat Kid roamed around the ship as a morning routine, she wasn't expecting any guests and her mom is still asleep; so hearing noises from the kitchen piqued her curiosity. She peeked inside and wasn't happy to see the Subcon ghost cooking something for breakfast. "Why are you in the kitchen?" Hat Kid asked as she observed Snatcher preparing a plate of food, there was a stack of buttermilk pancakes, crispy homemade bacon and a generous drizzle of maple syrup. She looked around the rest of the kitchen, it wasn't entirely a mess, just a few bowls and utensils that needed to be cleaned.

"Nunya." Snatcher grumbled, clearly didn't want a nosy kid getting into his super-secret surprise. She looks at him confused, "What?" Snatcher carefully picks up the meal and carries it with him. "It's Nunya-business...!"

Hana rolled her eyes at Snatcher being sneaky. "Who the pancakes for?" She asked one more time, seeing how annoyed Snatcher is getting from her constant pestering. "These are not for you, obviously..." He stuck his forked tongue out childishly at Hat Kid, who stuck her tongue out back. She follows Snatcher as he heads to Luci's bedroom.

She made a vocal sound of disgust which made Snatcher pause with a silent groan, "Don't tell me you made that for Mom!" Snatcher turned and side-glared at Hat Kid, "Yeah? What's so bad about it?" he finally questioned back, making Hat Kid think about why she is mad at Snatcher.

There is nothing wrong with Luci getting breakfast in bed as a surprise, but what she didn't like about it was Snatcher. He and Luci started dating because Hat Kid couldn't keep her big mouth shut and made a joke about them dating. This led to weeks of them making subtle flirts, giving gifts that range from books to food, and being overall head-over-heels with each other. Hana was happy to see Luci smile as she was usually shy, observant, and seemingly non-confrontational until she was at her limit. However, Hana has to deal with Snatcher teasing her and bragging about how much of a sweetheart he is to Ms. Lucia, he would smirk and revel at Hat Kid's increasing frustrations of flaunting himself for dating someone close to her.

These frustrations and regrets were from a meaningful place. Hana wanted Lucia to be happy for though she is basically her assigned adopted mom, she is super fun and curious; and ever since the crown-raiding with Snatcher, he was finally moving on and free from the Queen's precious Prince he once was. It is just the idea of Snatcher or Luci having their hearts broken again, as both had experienced it differently but made them who they are now.

Hana was just scared of either of them hurting each other...But she will beat up Snatcher if he does anything hurtful to her mom, and she'll be even madder if it turns out that he was dating Luci just to get on Hana's nerves.

"Luci's ship to Hat Brat! Helloooooo!" Snatcher was waiting for Hana's response. She gets flustered but doesn't back down yet, "J-Just...don't do any funny icky Couple stuff!" she ordered Snatcher, who looked down at her with surprise and amusement. Slowly, a sly smirk appeared on his jack-o-lantern mouth.

"Oh?~ 'Icky Couple Stuff'?~" He chuckled and inches closer to Hat Kid, "Like what, exactly? You mean... giving each other loooong hugs?~ Calling each other sickeningly sweet nicknames?~" He slurred teasingly as he slithered around a now disgusted and embarrassed Hat Kid, "Y-Yes!! O-O-Or anything else!!"

"Liiiiiiike....Kissing??~ " He barked with an evil grin as she visibly cringed, "Oh hohohoho!!~ We're going to kiss A LOT, Kiddo!!~ It'll be Passionate, Sloppy, and Very Loud!~" He made sure to punctuate each adjective to give Hat Kid a haunting picture. "And that is because your Mother and I... LOOOOOOOOVE Each Other~"

Hat Kid ran away screaming in disgust, and Snatcher heartily laughed hard. He continues on his way to Lucia's bedroom, calming his cackle into a deep chuckle, "What a wimp...!" He mumbled as he opened and closed the door quietly.
