This hallway lasts forever.
My eyes had finally adjusted to the dimmer light and I was constantly scanning the walls for any threat. On the outside the building looked old and abandoned but the inside was like a fortress. New, refurbished walls and floors. Everything looking new and expensive.
Finally the hallway came to a halt at a door. I took a deep, steadying breath, tightening the grip on my gun. I free one of my hands and pull open the door immediately placing my hand back on my gun.
There was nobody there.
Strange.
The room was very spacious and had a high ceiling with bars forming a right angle from the walls. The top of the ceiling and the bars were both concealed in shadow. Suddenly the lights returned to normal with a slight flicker. They knew where I was. That's the only reason they would've returned the lights to normal. As soon as I had that thought the doors on the other side of the room burst open, a group of soldiers surrounding me from all angles. Around 6 at most.
I straighten my posture and act at ease.
"Hey fellas."
"Drop the gun and put your hands up." One of the armed soldiers barked
"Wow ok straight to business." I state while putting my gun at my feet
"Who are you?"
"My god how many more people are going to ask me that today?" I reply, annoyed
"Enough until we get an answer I suppose"
"Well I can assure you, you aren't going to get an answer"
I attempt to create a plan to no avail. I guess I'm just going to have to wing this one.
I extend my arm above my head and activate my web shooter, a thin but strong thread coming from the shooter. It hits its target on the ceiling and suddenly I'm off the ground.
The soldiers are taken aback and I'm already half way off the ground before they start shooting. The room erupts in a series of delayed gunshots and I'm almost at the ceiling before I feel a bullet graze my shoulder. I get to the highest bar on the ceiling and place my feet on the top. All the bars below me are blocking the soldiers bullets so I have a moment or two to reassess the situation.
I press my fingertips to my shoulder and hiss. God that hurt like a bitch. I pull down the shoulder of my shirt and see my shoulder's drenched in blood. It didn't put a hole in my shoulder but it definitely did more than skim it.
I then realised how quiet it was.
I looked up from my shoulder and down to where the soldiers were standing. They were all still there, they just finally realised that shooting at me while I was up here was useless.
I had to get their guns off of them or I didn't stand a chance.
I extended my wrist again and this time shot out a more spiderweb like pattern. It latched onto one of the soldiers guns and I dragged it to every soldiers gun, the web stealing every one of them out of their hands. I flung the web up to the ceiling and stuck it there with more web fluid, looking down at the soldiers once again.
"That seems more fair now doesn't it" I smirk
They all glared up at me, staring daggers at me.
"Why don't you come down here and even out the odds fully?" One of the soldiers sneered
"Oh I will"
I created a new thread that attached to the ceiling and I jumped off my bar. I landed on the ground, bracing my knees and I looked around at the soldiers surrounding me.
