Chapter Twelve
Survival Training in UsePEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF ASCIA
HOSTILE GROUNDS
SILVER FOREST
04:21 AM
1/8/17The night was pitch black, and the tree canopy above certainly didn't help. Pip was currently heading over to where he saw Sydney's parachute land. If anything, he's probably hanging in a tree and disoriented.
Pip: Never though I'd actually have to put my SERE training to use... God forbid it had to be now.
The bush was thick, and the Ontario Knives 499 that the Major had wasn't really of use as of now. It was just a basic survival knife that all pilots have, at least back on earth.
The journey over where Pip's WSO was took about fifteen or so minutes, and not a thing could be heard. That also might be because Pip is wearing his helmet still, but he moved forward.
Sydney: Hey, dumbass! Look up!
Looking up, Pip spotted the only other human in this world. He was stuck on a tree with his knife on the ground. The Major didn't really have much of a choice but to take off his helmet to be able to hear around him.
Pip: How did you manages to drop your knife?
Sydney took off his helmet and threw it to the ground below him. It was pitch black now, neither aviator having their NODs to put to use. It was pointless in the first place, if they can't hear anything then they're bound to get captured. The furs in this world are extremely quiet, after all.
Sydney: What?
Pip sighed and face palmed, repeating what he said. They've definitely got a long road ahead out here.
Pip: How did you lose your knife?
Sydney: When I landed in the tree, it jerked me pretty hard and my knife came off my vest.
Pip: Well, shit. Hang tight, I'm coming up.
With the little moon light that the pilot had to work with, he slowly made his way up the tree that Sydney was on. Pip had to climb a little more to get to the WSOs ropes.
Pip: Can't see shit up here...
Sydney: Least you haven't been hanging here for about half an hour.
Pip chuckled and began cutting the paracord hanging Sydney up. It took a few minutes, just because of the fact that the cords were so far apart, but it was done in due time.
Pip: I'm droppin' ya in three... two... one...
The last four cords were cut with a single slash. Moments later, a thump was heard, along with a groan coming from the ground. Pip swiftly climbed down the tree, meeting a groaning Sydney on the ground.
Pip: Hey, you good man?
Sydney: ...No! I just fell about fifteen feet from a tree! Might've broken something.
Sitting up, Sydney began taking his flight equipment off and throwing it to the side. No point in having it anymore, they've got to move as quickly as possible.
