Seven days have passed by now, and the aviators of Fighting-202 were holding out. They been scavenging, hunting, collecting, and everything in between. As of now, Pip and Sydney were about twenty klicks east of where they both landed, still following the river.

Currently, the aviators were sitting around a fire off the river bank, their shelter behind them. It was peaceful out here, the crackling of the fire and flowing of the river having a calming effect on them. That's excluding the close calls they've had with RRT forces.

At the very least, Pararescue Jumpers we're less than half a klick behind the pair, hot on their heels and tracking them down. The PJs also knew where they are and rescue was inevitable.

Pip: You think we'll get out of here?

Sydney looked over to Pip and gave a shrug. Time was ticking for them, that was for certain.

Sydney: I think we have to get out of here... I mean, in war you need all the pilots you can get. Air superiority is a massive factor. And we're also citizens of the UCR now, so there's also that.

Behind them, a branch snapped. That prompted Pip and Sydney to take cover somewhere, that being behind the closest tree. Looking over in the direction of where the noise came from sat a deer. A "normal" one at that.

Pip: Look at that.

He spoke in a whisper, a little fawn appearing next to the doe.

Sydney: Now that's something, for sure.

Life was definitely something in this world, extremely diverse as it is in the ecosystems on Earth.

The doe perked up at something northbound before running off with her child, revealing six Pararescue Jumpers. All of them were  clad in their Multicam tactical gear, but out of all of them, the white fur of a Lynx told the aviators who they were.

Sydney: And there's our boys.

Pip laughed a little before standing up, his sage green flight suit popping out of the browns and greens around them. Sydney followed suit and stood, both aviators smiling wide.

Home was just around the corner for them all, and they knew it. Braelynn was the first one to approach them, followed by Skyler. The serval quickly took Pip up in a practically bone crushing hug, lifting him off the ground with a single tear falling.

Pip: A-Air!

Braelynn: Sorry...

The Senior Airman loosened her embrace, while Skyler was chatting with Sydney. Everyone in Unit 2-9 was glad to see these guys alive and kicking still. All that was left was to get them out of there.

Savannah: Alright, alright. It's good to see you boys again, but we've gotta go. Lots of PJs out were out here looking for you, lucky we heard those gunshots about a week or so ago.

Pip attempted to wave at Savannah, but he kind of had a feline in tactical gear strangling him with her hug. The Coyote gave everyone an order then and there; time to get out and back to the FOB.

Savannah: Let's move, everyone! FOB is over fifteen klicks north. Ben, Markus, you're gonna be in the middle of the column.

Off they went, extraction just around the corner for them. Home was coming soon, but not before Braelynn gave Pip a peck on the cheek and got into her position in the squad. The Major blushed a little after she pecked him, quickly moving off into position.
