Let's also not forget my birthday was on May 1st and the fight between Mayweather and Pac was on the 2nd..etc etc

"I'm sorry man, but what?" the cashier asked, confused. This confusion was drawn all over his face as he stood there silently.

Karkat blinked his eyes. This wasn't Kankri! Wow, fuck did he feel retarded.

..How can he mistaken somebody else for his brother? More importantly; how can he mistaken this stranger for Kankri Vantas? This guy literally looks nothing like him! Red highlights in his hair..obviously wearing a lot of hair gel..? This guy wasn't even near Kankri's height..he was too tall to be even be related to a Vantas!

"..I thought you were someone else.." He paused, thinking a little before speaking again. "Sorry." he apologizes awkwardly, not sure what else to say.

"That's fine-"

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I hear someone say my name?"

Holy shit that voice sounded familiar..A voice Karkat had despised until..WAIT A SECOND..! Karkat lifted himself on his tippy-toes a little, excited from the familiar voice. "Kankri!!" he hollered out again.

Kankri moved to the register, "I'll handle this customer, Rufioh. "

"Kay man." the cashier, who was supposedly named Rufioh, said as he laid a hand on Kankri's shoulder and walked away.

~Kankri's POV~

I flinched a little as I heard someone yell my name...I ignored it, thinking it was just my imagination, or perhaps a noise I misheard.

But then my name was called out once again. "Kankri" was what I heard, and the voice calling out for me seemed familiar. It was a mix of raspy, but also high pitched. The voice wasn't too raspy or high pitched..and it was like my head was accustomed to the voice.

I turned my head, walking towards the cash register, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I hear someone request for my presence?"

"Kankri!!"

I widened my eyes at the eye contact of my younger sibling. A smile arose from his mouth as I gave him a shocked look. It was him! It's only been a few days, but my am I thrilled to see and hear him again! I politely told my companion, Rufioh, I would handle this special customer.

I smiled at my brother, "Karkat! It's nice to see you. How are you?"

"Hey, nice to see you too. Also, horrible; that 'amazing' horse shit in a cup nearly melted my tongue off! Not to come off as an asshole or anything either, but what are even you doing here?"
