The Hokage's office had fallen silent, as the two visitors stared at the Kage behind the desk. Tsunade was deep in thought about what was being asked. A little caught off guard, to be honest. Especially from the fact that someone unexpected had tagged alongside Kakashi.
"You want information on Mai's exam results?" Tsunade asked. Just in case she heard wrong.
"That's right," Kakashi answered.
Shikamaru nodded in agreement. None of them could forget what they saw during that sparing match a day prior.
"Why do you want to know?"
"She's my former student. I would think a sensei has the right to know how their pupils are performing. And I want to know how she exactly qualified for the Phantom program."
"She asked to keep it classified."
"Does Belva know about this?"
"Of course she does. She's the one who suggested she took part in both the Jounin and ANBU Exams. You weren't there for either?"
"Missions both times."
"I was busy with registration behind the walls in regards to the other Villages," Shikamaru answered.
The Hokage looked at the two ninja in front of her before sighing heavily. This could no longer be kept in the dark; otherwise they were bound to do something stupid to gain any information.
"Not a word to Mai that I showed you the files," Tsunade said. "Or Belva if you want to keep your heads."
She opened a drawer to scan through the documents.
"Be Fong really is one of our best ninjas that I've seen in a long time. She greatly impressed everyone at both exams. I'll admit, her skills were a little intimidating to watch. I almost feel bad for the damned targets she's sent to assassinate or retrieve."
A folder was pulled free before being handed over to Kakashi.
"It's a very detailed report. Though if you want to know everything ask Yamato. He was present because of Ibiki's presence."
"Thank you, Hokage," the Jounin said.
The two began to leave.
"I want that file back!" she called out before the door shut.
As the two of them walked down the front steps, Shikamaru questioned, "Are you going to look at it?"
"I want to talk to Yamato about this before reading," Kakashi said. "With his help, we can try to figure out what happened."
The said ninja was found in a grassy training field. He had taken over Naruto's training with his Wind Elemental Jutsu until Kakashi returned.
"Naruto, you're done for the day," Kakashi declared. "Go get some lunch."
"Huh? But I'm almost there!" he protested.
Yamato turned and his eyes landed on the folder tucked under Kakashi's arm.
"I knew it was only a matter of time until you went looking," Yamato said.
"What are you talking about?" Naruto asked.
The Jounin nodded in the blonde's direction. "Might as well include Naruto since they were on the same team."
"Augh! I'm right here! Will someone please tell me what's going on?"
