Wandering in the forest which is rich in Emerald color. A Unicorn is grazing the grass a few feet away from me.The woods are older than uncountable years. There is a butterfly with glittering wings flying ahead of me. The sky is alerting--it will rain soon. There is a sudden jolt. Is this earthquake?
"Cassy. get. up." The voice is piercing my ears. Someone shaking me. My dream went off. Unicorn vanished.
"No, why? Unicorn?"
"Unicorn? No, I'm your bloody cousin, Cassy." Vanessa hugged me before I could jump out of the car. "Van..." I was in a dream, girl.
"Kids, out now", my aunt Jessica called from the porch.
It's my countryside nanny-ma's old and comfy house. No, a palace full of many rooms.
Van and I raced to the porch.
"Whoever touches my mom will get the top bunk." She jumps. Cheating. I followed her with all my strength. Still, I lost."Why am I always lost to you?" "You should play sports more than reading books".
I forget my books. I ran back to the car now even faster.Uff, I got'em.
"You and your books."
"Come, your nanny-ma is waiting."
Both Aunt and van called out differently.
"Merry Merry Christmas" was the only thing I shouted before hugging nanny-ma.
"Nanny-ma, she likes reading fantasy books. I saw them." Van told. It was my favorite. But you can't say them. She is bad.
"Ohh, that's what you are hiding in your backpack?" Nanny-ma slowly tried to grab my bag. "No, Nanny-ma." I'm faster.
Aunt Jessica will be angry with me. What if she knew that I'm reading this?
She thought that I'm reading moral stories. Fantasy also states morals. But not everyone states the facts like my mom.
I want to know the morals behind these books soon.
I hugged my backpack (or two books) tightly."I know. You like magic; You like adventures."
Now, Nanny-ma hugged both of us fondly, not tightly like me."I can smell spaghetti'', Van vanished into the Kitchen. We were sitting at the dinner table, nanny-ma told me how Van enjoyed the last two days without me.
"Nanny-ma." "Yes, my little gem". "How is your leg?" Nanny-ma told me last month that she is doing good. I always wanted to run in our fields with nanny-ma.
I forgot your leg."It's getting nice." Nanny-ma caressed my head. I can feel another hand. "Mother, your sweetie pie didn't remember this leg before an hour ago."
Three hours dad.
Ahh, why are all my good deeds gone bad in the end? But Dad is at least not angry now."See. She is just a kid. She can't remember everything."Nanny-ma told my papa.
I can remember everything but sometimes all are gone somewhere.
Papa nodded, "Okay, now I will leave you guys alone. You can ask many stories, sweetie." "Mother, Merry Christmas."
Then Papa hugged us before going to sleep. No, he got a business call.
"Nanny-ma... when is Zander nanna coming?" "Tomorrow by now." Come soon zandy nanna. I called her through my mind.
"Why are you so silent?"
"Calling zandy nanna." I slightly opened my eyes."Why are you so curious?"
"Zandy nanna will give me something special."
"And what is that?" Nanny-ma looked at me with suspicion."It's a secret," I told in a small voice.
"I know it already. Your Barbie doll right?". Wrong.
"No, my dear nanny-ma. It's something special." "Then. Tell me what it is?" "Shh, don't shout, it's one book, I dreamed of."
"Ohh Zandy is giving you a special book. That's great, sweetie."
No. Nanny-ma, don't shout."Who is giving--what?"
Papa, didn't you go? God, that call."Err, Zandy is coming. Sweetie, come let's go." Nanny-ma dragged me before pops open his mouth. Thanks, Nanny-ma.
I remembered mom's advice in the restroom--'to-be-good-girl'.
I want to please my dad by being a good girl. But how?Why was he here when I said this to Nanny-ma. My nanny-ma is loud.
"Let's celebrate your homecoming." Nanny-ma guided me towards our favorite part of the house. The door to my peace opens.
"I'm so glad. Finally, I'm here." After two years. But I couldn't stop complaining about the long trip.
"Sweetie..."
Nanny-ma looks at the gawk in front of her.
"If Cassy is silent, something is off." I nodded. She can see through my eyes. Isn't it?
"Open it." She orders in a sweet voice.
"Nanny-ma, I do want to stop asking many questions. But..but.." I can't stop.
"I knew who your father and mother are when it comes to 'What others will think?' ". Nanny-ma quotes her words. She'll see everything differently-- most others don't.
"Now, Papa told me to say only positive comments on everything." "That's bad". Correct nanny-ma. I looked at our blooms on the balcony.
"Dear, see those stars." What?
"Nanny-ma?" "See them for a few minutes." I look up to the sky. It's a calm night sky. I can see those stars overseeing all of us. I felt a hug.
"Parents are like stars. They just want to guide you."
"But..."
"I'm not completed yet" I saw those stars again.
"See, you can take some advice and leave something. It's up to you, Cassy."
What are you saying nanny-ma?
I circled to look at her. "I can't..." But Her eyes.
