The flames spiraled around them.
The first thing Sakusa noticed was that they weren't hot, just warm.
But he also noticed that the grass beneath them was slowly being charred.
"My flames won't hurt ya unless I want 'em to," Atsumu grinned at him, "An' I don't think I'd ever want 'em to hurt ya."
Sakusa's eyes widened as he stared into the golden eyes of the pyrokinetic user.
Suddenly, Atsumu launched off the ground, dragging Sakusa with him.
They rocketed through the sky at speeds that could rival a jet.
Atsumu's flames sliced through the night like a shooting star as they soared high into the upper atmosphere.
Sakusa felt the temperature drop around them as the flames warmed up a little without burning him.
The city looked so small from where they were.
Sakusa was mesmerized, not only by the view of the world below, but also by the blonde holding his hand.
After about a minute of flying, Atsumu began to descend.
They flew back towards the Earth, shooting downwards towards a mountain that stood tall amongst everything else.
Mt. Everest.
Sakusa had been there a bunch of times with the other Forsaken members, but he'd never seen it so clearly from above before.
They entered a cave at the peak that was hidden behind a boulder.
Atsumu must of flown this path at least a hundred times, because he winded through the tunnels that led down to the core quickly and accurately.
They zipped through the tunnels at speeds so fast that Sakusa swore that they broke the sound barrier.
He'd never flown through the tunnels so fast before, the others were always really careful when going to the core even though three of them could travel as fast as light.
Atsumu had memorised these tunnels.
Whenever he had to go in or out, he made sure that he was taking note of the directions because he needed to be quick as to not leave the core unattended for too long.
Though he was going even faster now because he hadn't tended to the core since he absorbed the excess heat to make the magma stop rising.
It was muscle-memory, Atsumu knew those twists and turns by heart...
After a few minutes, they touched down at the entrance to the core.
It was basically a humongous pool of molten iron that surrounded a solid ball of iron and nickel that was around one thousand two hundred and twenty-two kilometers in diameter and six thousand degrees Celsius, the same temperature as the sun.
Sakusa immediately began to sweat, how did Atsumu survive down there?
The only thing protecting him from being completely obliterated in mere seconds was Atsumu's ability to absorb the heat in the air around them.
Whenever he went down with one of the others, they'd never get close enough to actually see the core, they'd measure the temperature of the air in the tunnels to see if it fluctuated or not.
Sakusa began wondering if he could actually stay down there.
"Jus' give me a minute to check it real quick," Atsumu said as he crouched down.
He closed his eyes as he placed his hands on the ground.
After a minute, he stood up and looked over at Sakusa.
