I woke up refreshed. The light I haven't seen since I been here was finally shining through. I looked outside to see blue skies. Eager to get outside, I slipped on a pair of dark blue jean shorts, and a black v-neck shirt. I glided down the stairs and stuffed my face with a banana, I brushed my teeth quickly and grabbed my purse. I quickly grabbed the ground turkey and set it out to thaw, then I leaped outside and flung my arms to the back and let the heat absorb on my face. I let out a happy sigh and thought if I should ditch school or not. Knowing I shouldn't skip since it's only been my second day, I hopped into my truck. I drove to school enjoying not having to put the heater on. I was early to school so I rolled down my windows and put my feet up on the dashboard. I took out a book and started reading.
I heard a knock on my door and almost jumped out of my seat. I looked to see who it was and it was Mike. "Did I scare you?" He asked with concern in his eyes. "Yea, a little bit" I admitted. "Sorry. Hey I was wondering..." He started to say before someone grabbed his backpack and started pulling him away. "I will ask you at lunch!" He yelled as he was being pulled. I simply nodded and got out of the truck.
I walked with Eric to English and sat in my seat. Romeo and Juliet relationship was like a disaster fairly tale. But I kind of envied their relationship. I was never good at relationships, but then again, I never had much experience with them. Not wanting to think of my failed love life, I zoned out. Government, Trig, and Spanish flew by like they did yesterday. Today I brought my lunch so I sat down next to Jessica who was already talking to someone so I started to chew on my apple.
"Oh hey Bella!" She said bouncing like she usually does. I put down my apple and wiped my mouth. "Hey Jess" I replied. Mike and Eric came and sat down in front of me. "So what did you want to ask me?" I said looking at my half bitten apple. Mike perked up and was happy I was still interested. "Oh", he said looking across the table, "well, Eric, Jessica, Angela and I were planning to go down to La Push beach. I was wondering if you'd like to go." He said waiting anxiously for my answer. "When is it?" I asked taking another bite of my apple. "This Saturday" he said bouncing in his seat. "Maybe" I said with a smile.
"You should" Eric said enthusiastically. "We're also going surfing" said Mike. "Yeah" Erik said while jumping on top of his chair and was pretending to surf. "La Push is excellent for surfing" he said putting some kind of weird accent on La Push. "La push" he said again but this time winking at Angela. "Alright, I will go if you will stop "surfing" and saying La Push" I said while rolling my eyes. He quickly got down from his seat then said "it's a deal".
The rest of the day dragged on. So when I go home I dropped my purse and flung myself onto the couch, allowing myself to relax for a couple seconds. Then I remembered that the Black's are coming over soon, so I forced myself up and started cooking. I just got the lasagna out of the oven when I heard a knock on the door.
I looked out the window and saw Billy's car, so I opened the door. "Hello Bella" Billy said with a friendly smile. "Hey Billy, come on in' I said, motioning my hand inside. Jacob wheeled Billy into the living room and helped him onto the couch. I leaned again the door and watched with a stupid smile on face. "Hey Bells" Jacob said coming over to me. "Hey Jake, how you been?" I asked politely. "Good... I'm working on this car... maybe you should come over sometime" he said trying to find the the right words. I nodded my head "sounds good" I said.
"Is Charlie home?" Billy asked flipping through the channels. "No, he's still at work" I responded. Before Charlie got home, I was mostly talking to Jake. He's so down to earth and happy, even though I haven't seen him for years, its has only felt for a couple of days since we talked like this. When we were in the middle of a story of when we were younger, Charlie came in. "Hey dad" I said. "Hey Bells, Jacob, Billy" he said waving to all of us. Me and Jake were on the floor in front of the t.v. I was to busy talking to Jake that I didn't realize Charlie had set up the table. "Oh shoot! Sorry dad, I was talking to Jake..."
"It's okay, I got it" Charlie said before I could finish. I smiled a 'thank you' and sat down to eat. While we were eating Jake was making us all laugh. I was actually having fun at dinner? It surprised me really. Then Charlie and Billy were laughing at something that happened to them making me Jake talk. When we finished dinner, I was sad that they had to go. It was fun to find my laughter again. When Jake was about to walk out the door he turned around to face me. "See you soon, okay?" He said with a grin. "Most definitely" I said smiling back. He extended his arms for me to hug him and so I did. "Goodnight Bells" he said while turning back to Billy. "Goodnight Jake, you too Billy" I said while Jake was rolling him away. He waved his hand 'goodnight'.
I went to bed happy that night. Today was a good day, I wish all days could be like this. I twisted myself into my sheets, thinking about Jacob and going to La Push on Saturday. When I finally fell asleep I could feel that I still had a smile on my face. I knew tonight I would sleep peacefully.
