"ah so you both know each other, even better." declared mr. lee. "we set up an arranged marriage so that you both will have a smooth sailing career as future CEO's!"

your jaw dropped on the floor. heeseung looked just as shocked, if not even more. you couldn't find the right words as you took a few steps back.

"w-what an arranged m-marriage? with h-him?" you stuttered between your teeth.

your father shot you a glare, "not now y/n," he hit your shoulder hard.

"seungwoo, it's okay if she's not ready we don't hav-" mr.lee got cut off.

"no she has to! we agreed to it!" your dad turned to you, "this is the best thing for us right now yang y/n don't give me attitude!"

you started crying non stop. your father and everyone else just stared in shock. of course everyone knew you. the daughter of a famous CEO. none of them expected you to cry though. heeseung stood up, ready to stand up for you.

"of course it's the best for you but have you ever considered what i wanted? you care nothing about anyone else but you! am i even your real daughter, have you even ever really loved me?"

with that, you ran out of the building. heeseung ran after you, ignoring your dad who was telling him it wasn't worth it.

that was it. that was the fight that told it all. now heeseung understood your behavior. he understood your pain. he fey guilty for all the times he scolded you. as he ran after you, he started to regret not helping you change in the beginning. lacking love broke you into pieces so heeseung now promised himself that one day, he'll make life easier for you.

you made your way to a lake near the restaurant. there were newly painted benches with wet paint on them, so you just decided to lay in the grass, staring up at the stars.
you closed your eyes as small strands of tears flew out of your eyes. you suddenly felt someone's presence. it was heeseung. he laid next to you.

"the stars are pretty aren't they," he asked, in which you only hummed in response.

"your dad only the best for you, you know." he wanted your future to run stability and smoothly."

"best for me? to marry you? what kind of nonsense is that." you replied half joking.

heeseung smiled, "tell me, why did you do what you did to yuna?"

you rolled your eyes, "so we're on this again huh?"

"yes, i want to know."

you sighed. "as you said hee, i was jealous. i always wondered how love worked. after seeing them together, it hurt me. i never experienced love on that level, where they would do anything for each other. nobody ever really loved me before."

"well, i could be the first?" heeseung smirked.

you turned to him, "why? im the villain in every single story. why ruin your reputation?"

heeseung chuckled in your response, "y/n i never actually found you the villain. i knew from the start you had your own issues. it didn't take long to find out how you got them though. every since we first met at your dad's business meeting, i could tell that you needed some love and support. your actions in school just proved it."

you smiled painfully, "as if you would really love me." you said as tears rolled down your eyes once again.

heeseung just got closer to you and he suddenly pulled you in for a kiss. you were shocked but eventually gave into it.

"now do you believe me?" he smirked

you shyly nodded.

at that point on, you and heeseung were super happy together. he made you feel like the most special person in the world. no matter how much everyone else hated you, heeseung was the only one you needed. he protected you from everything, he helped you every single day. you were no longer jealous of anyone. you realized that all you needed was right in front of you this whole time.

and his name was lee heeseung.
