_______________
“Will you marry me, Xela?” He offered me a paper ring; it was my best friend, Kiel.

My eyes sparked. The paper ring was not made perfectly, but it's still cute. “But we're still young to get married, Kael,” I innocently said.

“Yes, that's why It's only a paper ring, but would you still marry me when we get old?” He asked

“Of course!”

“Promise?”

“Promise!” I said, as we do the pinky swear.

The next day, the 10-year-old me got up early and roamed around in our garden.

I was confused when I saw Kael's dad carrying a big bag.

“Are you moving out, Kael?” I asked.

His eyes were red and still watery. He couldn't even look at me straight in the eyes.

“What about the promise we made? Are we going to break that up?” I asked. I could feel my eyes heating up.

“Of course not! Listen to me! We'll be moving, but I'll find you when we grow up!”

“Kael, baby? Let's go now. Did you already say goodbye to Xela?”

“Please wait for me.” The last words he said before walking away.

And after that, we never heard from each other again.

I laughed when I realized that I was remembering him again. I decided to visit our old place, where Kael and I met.

It's been 15 years since they moved out, and I'm now 25 years old and still waiting for him. I'm still hoping that he'll find me...

“I guess it's time for me to move on.” I said to myself and started to walk away.

I was looking down and didn't even notice that there was a person here, so I bumped into him.

“I knew you'd be here.” I turned my gaze to him, and I was shocked to see who it was!

“Kael?! Is that you?” I felt so happy and shocked at the same time. I can easily recognize him because of his features. His body and voice changed a lot.

“The one and only” He said, sounding so proud. I went to him and smacked him in the head.

“You said you'll find me? Why did it take you 15 years?!”

“I was scared because I thought you already had a family, especially when my grandma talked about you having a kid. You're a man-magnet, you know. I wouldn't even be surprised if you had 30 suitors each day.”

“Really, Kael?! You literally said to wait for you!”

“I didn't expect that you'd take it seriously.”

“Seriously, you know, you're the only one I like since we're ki-” I was cut off when he hugged me.

He broke the hugged and kneel down.
“H-Hey, What are you doing? Stand up!”

“Now that we're old enough to get married, will you marry me, Xela? I promise to make it up to you.” He said and opened a small box revealing a... PAPER RING?!

“I remembered how you liked paper rings when we were still kids. You would even cry if you ran out of colored paper.”

“Paper ring... You still remember?” My eyes were teary. My tears were made of pure joy and love.

“Yes, I will marry you!” I smiled. He suddenly hugged me passionately.

“You don't know how happy I am. Te amo”
