What is this? An update without an obnoxious amount of time having passed? I hope you guys like this chapter! It's kind of a filler but it's leading up to some big things!

Naruto wasn’t answering his phone.
How hard was it to open a damn text? Melanie threw her phone down on her bed only to snatch it up quickly when it buzzed. She let out a huff quickly opening the notification that someone liked her picture on Instagram.
She pulled up the picture of her and Naruto from their Christmas vacation. It was one of the few they took where she didn’t look like an extra for The Walking Dead. She switched screens so she could check the delivery status of her texts.
Good morning!

No response to any of her messages. She had waited reasonable amounts of time before sending each one. She grabbed her laptop signing onto Kohona Connects. A quick scan of Naruto’s page alerted her that he had been on five minutes ago.
“What the hell? So he can check this but won’t text me back?”
Melanie shut her laptop harder than she meant to. She meekly lifted the lid making sure the screen wasn’t cracked before falling back on her bed. Her eyes stayed glued to her ceiling light searching for any blinking lights. Her room was routinely checked for more hidden cameras but she still felt like eyes were watching her day and night.
It was suffocating.
She was going crazy.
Strike that, she was crazy.
She groaned rolling over to her side as flashbacks of her last moments of work bombarded her. She wasn’t scheduled to start back at Space Jam for another week. She was surprised they were even letting her back through the front doors the way she embarrassed herself. She needed to get Sakura an amazing gift for having her back. Sakura had gone above and beyond to explain to their boss what was going on; even going as far as making excuses for Melanie’s outbursts.
No longer being able to handle the hair on her arms and the back of her neck standing up she grabbed her coat and snow boots and headed downstairs.
“Where are you going?” Melanie’s mom was sitting in the front room curled up on the couch with a book.
Melanie halted in front of the door, her hand wrapped around the handle. “To the mall.”
“Would you like some company?”
