Kabuto stood in front of his closet letting his eyes drift over the color-coded shirts. Each color section was sorted into different fabrics. He needed to look his best tonight. Kabuto prided himself on his looks. He never left the house without a perfectly assembled look.
But tonight was different.
Tonight was his first night with Melanie and he wanted it to be special. Tonight his dreams would be realized and everything would go according to plan.
He grabbed a deep purple shirt knowing it was Melanie's favorite color and that it would accent his silver hair and eyes. He didn't bother with cologne, his natural musk would be enough.
His phone buzzed. Kabuto barely spared a glance to see Caroline's name. On the seventh call he answered.
"Yes?" He adjusted his glasses, sitting at his computer desk to finalize everything. He had about an hour before Melanie got off of work.
"I did what you asked."
"Good."
Caroline paused, sensing the growing distance between them. "Do I get rewarded for being a good girl?"
Kabuto grunted. He had molded his pawn too well. She begged for him like a dog deserving a treat.
"What are you doing tonight?" Caroline asked when Kabuto remained quiet.
"Melanie," Kabuto said quite gleefully.
"Excuse me?"
"I have a date with Melanie tonight."
Caroline was silent for a moment. "Why? I'm the one who makes you happy."
Kabuto felt pity for her, disgusted at her attachment to him. Her body was at his disposal but could never fulfill the need he felt for Melanie.
All of that would change tonight.
"Jealousy doesn't suit you."
"Will you punish me for it?"
"No." Kabuto hung up. He had other things to focus on.
Melanie was off of work at six-thirty. Which gave him exactly twenty-seven minutes to grab some flowers and be at her house. If they left within the next fourth minutes they'd be able to make their dinner reservations.
Kabuto frowned, adjusting his glasses again. Caroline had put him off of schedule but no worries. He had calculated for this. He grabbed his coat and keys. The grocery store was a quick trip and before he knew it, he was standing outside of Melanie's house.
He watched as Melanie pulled up to her house, five minutes after six-thirty, and opened her door. He watched the windows light up as she made her way throughout her house. He waited before making his way to the door. Pulling the house key he had made out of his pocket, he unlocked the door slipping inside. He put the flowers on the kitchen counter and silently made his way upstairs.
He had debated on whether this should be a surprise or not. Something about seeing her surprised face excited him. He made his way to her door and slowly pushed it over.
He didn't see her.
Melanie's voice drifted to him from the bathroom. "Do you think it was the person who was watching me with the cameras?"
Kabuto smiled. She was talking about him, as she should be. He moved from the door when he heard the tub draining. He leisurely strolled around her room letting his hand brush over her dresser as he passed by.
He reached her window and turned, leaning against it. From here, he had the perfect vantage point. He'd be able to see her before she saw him.
The door opened and Kabuto straightened. His breath caught in his throat at the sight of her in a towel. That was nothing compared to how his body reacted when she dropped her towel, revealing her body.
