Well I'm getting this chapter out a lot later than I would have liked but I've been sick and busy with work. Also, my beta reader is amazing guys. Seriously, you have her to thank for why my chapters come out the way they do. She doesn't let me get away with nonsense. This kind of a fluff chapter but it sets up the next chapter xD

It had been a quiet Monday, much to Melanie’s pleasure. After the weekend she had, had she wasn’t sure she could handle moody customers. She was fortunate enough to be scheduled on the afternoon shift but she couldn’t help the anxiety that kept her rooted in the backroom.
“Melanie can you come out here and help me with tables?” Sakura called.
“Is the coast clear?”
“Yes, you can stop hiding now.”
“I’m not hiding,” Melanie grumbled. “It’s not even busy.” She grabbed a tray on the way out. Sakura handed her the order and sent her on her way. Melanie glanced around the near empty room. Her eyes flickered to the corner table; it was weird not seeing Kabuto.
“He was here earlier, as per usual. He asked about you but I told him you didn’t work until later,” Sakura told her as she returned for the next order.
“That’s good,” Melanie let out a sigh, not sure how to feel. She quickly delivered the next order before leaning against the counter, contemplating if she wanted to order one of the café’s deserts. She had the sudden urge to drown her thoughts in chocolate.
“Melanie, is that a hickey?” Sakura asked, startling her. Sakura moved closer to inspect the girls’ neck. “Oh my gosh, it is!” Melanie slapped a hand to her neck, fighting a blush. “Naruto finally made his move, huh?”
At this, Melanie did blush. “Yes, he did.” She moved her umber hair to cover the love bite. Sakura gave her a genuine smile, pulling her in for a hug. “What was that for?”
“I’m just glad you guys are together. I’ve known Naruto for as long as I can remember, it’s nice to see him happy.”
Melanie raised an eyebrow bumping Sakura with her hip. “I thought you find him annoying?”
Sakura laughed, waving her hand dismissively. “Technicalities. Hey, what are you doing tonight?”
“Probably just hanging with Naruto, why?”
“Naruto can wait, why don’t you come over to my house tonight? We’re having a girl’s night. I want to introduce you to everyone.”
Melanie smiled. “That’d be really nice. I feel like I have no friends here, outside of you and Naruto.” And Kabuto Melanie added to herself. Although she wasn’t really sure they were friends anymore. She hadn’t spoken to him since the fight.
“-and bring an overnight bag. I want you to spend the night when everyone leaves.”
“Huh?”
“You weren’t paying attention, were you?” Sakura teased, a slight smirk settling on her lips. “Thinking about making out with Naruto?”
“Can you really blame her?” Someone answered for Melanie. She twirled around coming face to face with the grinning blonde. Melanie looked over Naruto’s shoulder to where a bored looking Sasuke stood.
