Chapter-2

Yash’s mother POV,

Despite of heavy Mumbai traffic I reached the temple within 20 minutes as temple is nearer to her home. 

Pandith,”Mam there is a possible solution for your son’s protection. He should get married to a Uttarapada born girl within a week. This is according to my knowledge I might be wrong as well. You may think I might be joking but this is what all I can say. I know very good girl of that star. I can arrange a meeting for you. This is all I have to say think yourself and act”.

“I want to meet the girl and can you please arrange a meeting by tomorrow”

Pandith,”Yes”

He showed Lavanya to Yash’s mother. She asked Yash’s manager to find out the whereabouts of Lavanya by evening. By evening manager could collect only few basic details like her age, birth  date, what she is studying that all. He couldn’t get any information before Lavanya’s engineering times. He found it odd even fake address mentioned in her college application. He found it odd and informed the same to Mrs. Shastry. She thought first she should meet the girl later would give thoughts about these things.

Writer’s POV

Later the evening Pandith ji called Lavanya and asked “Lavanya I need a favour”.

Lavanaya,”Yes ofcourse tell me”

Pandith,”Can you be able to visit the temple by tomorrow evening?”

“Anything important?”Lavanya asked

Pandith ji”Yes  Kind of. Can you visit the temple at 6:00pm?”

Lavanya agreed and hang up the call.

Yash’s POV

“Mon what kind of a sick game is this? Seriously, do I need to get married to be safe? Is there anything more dangerous than a marriage? For God’s sake I am just 24 and I definitely not interested to get married any time soon that too to a stranger within a week. Impossible mom, a definite ‘NO’”

Mom,“If you have an ounce of love for me, you will agree Yash”

“In that case mom, get into to your mind I have no love for you. Call off this stupid discussion. I am going bye”.

Mom,”You will and you have to agree Yash” and she turned towards Yash’s dad who was standing still witnessing all this drama.

Lavanya’s POV

Next day after my classes, went to the temple. Pandith ji told me to wait for some time. Within few minutes a  lady came and then Pandith ji introduced me to that lady, Mrs. Shastry.

“Hello mam, I am Lavanya. Padith ji told you wanted to meet me. Anything important mam. I am meeting you first time.”

 She started to tell the reason behind our meeting and the floor beneath me started to collapse.

Mrs. Shastry,” Dear young lady, I need a huge favor from you and being a way too older I shouldn’t ask you for such things but still I beg you, please save my son. My son’s life is in danger and this is the only possible way to save him. You are the only girl of that birth star I could find in this short duration. You can ask Pandith ji, he will assure you about my son and family. I am ready to bear anything for my son’s safety. I wanted to speak your parents first but couldn’t find anything about them. Please help me young lady”. Her monologue came to an end. I am stunned, shocked and what not. Is it for real? Even during these days, people believe such things. God I can’t believe this. I took few minutes to process all these things. But the lady seems desperate, helpless and genuine. A corner in my heart wanted to help her buy how?Marrying her son, impossible. I turned to Pandith ji with rage and then replied “Mam, I am uncomfortable to know you actually did a background search on me and don’t ever think of involving my parents in this circus. I can understand your situation  but I can’t help you mam. I am really sorry”. 

Then out of the blue I blabbered “Actually mam, I am currently at my final year of graduation and I am joining for job in 8 months. So I am moving to Germany permanently. So its better to find someone else for your son unless he can relocate to Germany. Take care mam, bye”.

I left the temple without any more discussions and my mind was in turmoil. I didn’t get a single proposal from any boy to be a girlfriend for all these years coz of my family and now here I am receiving a proposal from an unknown lady to be her daughter-in-law. Damn I really want to this.
