"Is it really a good idea?" Hoseok asks as he pushes the stroller down my parents driveway. I ponder for a bit as well. I wasn't sure that this get together was a good idea either. But I just couldn't find a reason not to come anymore. I've been holding it off-plus lying to them-for over a year now.
I stop in my tracks and face the man I love who looked like he was about to pass out any given moment. "If you want to tell them the truth, then I won't make you lie. We'll handle the consequences together yeah?" I lock my hands with his and he smiles, nodding his head as I watch his shoulders drop in relief.
"I'm not sure where I should start." He mumbles, glancing at my parents front door. His expression changes though and I quickly look towards the direction he's staring off to. Rin walks out the door with my parents besides him and bright smiles on their faces.
"What the hell?" I march up towards them and Rin's eyes follow my every movement. He smiles solemnly. "What are you doing here? Did you guys invite him?" I turn to my parents but Rin doesn't give them room for an answer.
"They did. Don't you think it's time I met Cammie?"
"Her name is Camelia to you." I seethe, balling my fists. His eyes soften and he glances over my shoulder. "But no. It's not time for you to meet her. We're leaving." I twirl in my heels and head back to my family.
"Baby, what happened?" Hoseok's eyes remain on me though I knew he was angry with his appearance as well. He cups my face and forces me to look at him when I didn't. "Did they invite him too?" He whispers, swiping his thumb over the stupid tears that left my eyes.
"He wants to meet Cammie. He has no right after he left. After all he did." I shake my head viciously and Hoseok nods his head, agreeing with me. "Let's go home Hobi please."
"Please wait!" Jonah calls out and I scoff, but I still couldn't turn around to face him. I feel his presence behind me. "This can't continue to go on like this Beth, you have to forgive him eventually." He says sternly.
I chuckle dryly, "forgive him?" I turn around and shake my head. "He forgot he had this family, he only cared for himself and he used Camelia's death as an excuse to run away like the coward that he is." I spit out venomously.
"Elizabeth!" Jonah shouts angrily at me and I flinch. "That's the past, it happened and I know your brother is sorry for how he handled things but you can't keep this anger inside of you anymore. What are you going to tell Cammie when she grows up and she has three uncles but only knows two of them?" He asks, more calmly now.
"Kaine and Karter are her only uncles." I state firmly and he frowns disappointingly at me. I shrug my shoulders, "as far as she'll know a Rin McCann doesn't exist." I grab the stroller and turn to leave. "And if you want to continue to see us, then you won't tell her either."
