I'm a Teen.

I look at other girls and Glow green.

Homework's a complete nightmare

I see models and can't help but compare

We have talks about mental health in school.

The teachers look like a complete fool

"Go on a walk, it will help with the feels!"

It doesn't help the fact that I'm skipping meals

Why do they think our feelings are just lies?

"I'm depressed" I say as I'm greeted with a roll of their eyes.

"I've got a headache" complains the professor,

Yet they don't consider how we feel being under all this pressure?

Assignment upon Assignment

Juggling homework like I'm doing acrobatics

But of course Mental Health days off school are

"Just you being dramatic"

The things Adults say and do

I swear I could make a list

And they still wonder

Why the red covers my wrists?

I'm not Okay

Sometimes I don't want to be alive anymore.

But, I'm just a teen.

So my feelings are ignored.
