So I'm not continuing this story. Yeah... took me 2 years to say but we don't need to talk about that. *sweats*
ALthough I enjoyed writing it when I did, it lacked a proper story in my head and was just basically torture the whole time so... I mean we're all messed up in the head, aren't we? 😂
So this is a short explanation for the "canonical" ending but be sure to comment any endings you would see more fit or ones you would have likeD or expected to see! Also, scenes or thoughts on waht could happen or ehat ypu would have liked to see. I'd love to read your interpertations.
If I remember correctly, the ending of the story went something like this:
Seth is tortured and held hostage for several years. Kendra never stops looking and one day they come across the place Seth is being held hostage and they manage to save him. Only he's not the same.
After years of torture, Seth's body shut down and his mind sort of turned off. He endured too much trauma and pain and his body went into lock-mode to save him from it. He's a shell, clammed up and stuck in his own mind.
They take him back home but Seth is basically catatonic, doesn't react or speak. He's completely gone.
I never decided whether to have a sad ending or a bittersweet one. The sad ending would be that he just stays this way and maybe one day just passes in his sleep, knowing he's safe again. Knowing he's with people who care for him and he can finally relax and let himself go, and know that he made it out.
The bittersweet ending would have been that he eventually gains consciousness but never returns back to who he was. He speaks and learns to walk again after being weak and immobile for so long, but he rarely smiles and there's always a distant and faraway look in his eye.
In either way, they lose Seth in the end.
