It was hard to find Souya, but it seems that I wasn't the only one in this situation.
"Sakura? Souya? Where are you guys?"
Mitsuya breathed a sigh of drowsiness. He'd have expected this, but he never thought about how to find them.
"Oh yeah, my phone." He pulled it out of his yukata and went through his contact list.
"Please pick up..."
He put his cellphone to his ear and waited for the other end to pick up. His half-open eyes perked up when he heard a voice.
"Hello?"
"Sakura? Where are you? Are you okay?"
"Uhh, I'm sorry. But this is the lost-and-found station." An unknown person spoke instead of his cheerful girlfriend.
"Someone handed over a pink smartphone that they picked up somewhere. Are you a friend of this smartphone's owner?"
"Uh, yes. Was there a keychain of a black cat on the pink phone?"
"That's correct. Would you like to come and pick it up?"
"I'll be heading over. Bye for now."
Mitsuya closes his phone and starts walking to the lost-and-found station. He strides past groups of people coming and going in the carnival, making his way through. On the way however, he spots a familiar face.
"Was it this way... No, not there... Then where-"
His droopy eyes widened once more as he sees a certain takoyaki seller.
His hair was purple and pink. He had a piece of cloth covering his neck. Mitsuya could see the man's smile.
It was uncanny. He'd recognize that face anywhere.
"Ran..."
Instinctively, Mitsuya hid behind a pillar that extended through the pier floor to the sandy shore beneath. He peeked out slowly until he could barely see the man who attacked him with a brick.
It's crazy. The police had already filed multiple murders assumed to be caused by the Haitanis, and yet they're here grilling takoyaki?
"This smells fishy..." He thought in his mind.
So far, nothing out of the ordinary has happened yet. But is Sakura's safety more important, or the Haitanis' motive for being here?
"Rindou, I need your help here! I can't make these all by myself!"
Ran suddenly called out. Mitsuya noticed a group of girls were at the stall ordering food now.
"So his brother is here as well, huh? Better leave at once."
So he continued to make his way to the lost-and-found station. But as he went, he got even more lost.
"I've been running in circles for about 10 minutes now... Where is that-"
"Uhhh excuse me, mister?"
The lilac-haired boy turned his head. Speaking to him was the group of girls who were buying takoyaki at the Haitanis' stall.
"Can I help you, ladies?"
"Umm, uhh, well..."
"We wanted to ask you a question, if you don't mind...?"
Mitsuya tilted his head in curiosity and nodded.
"Well, we saw you peeking behind that pillar just now and uhh, we thought you were stalking us."
