3. Boy In The Back

A smack on my head made me jump out of my daydream and back to reality. I looked down onto my desk and saw a whiteboard marker.

"Miss y/n! My lectures are not for daydreaming! Should I have you leave your seat?" my professor spoke from the front of the auditorium.

My mind was somewhere else during Prof. Katagawa's class. After that day, I couldn't stop thinking about that bartender.

When we left the bar, Rin, Sakura and I saw the group from before, out cold outside the bar. Not one of them was let off lightly. Could a bartender beat up a gang that easily?

No gang stepped forth into that bar afterward. Perhaps that rumor was true.

"Miss y/n? Do you hear me?"

"Yes, sir. My mistake."

"Thank you. Now, can you return my marker, please?"

I tossed the marker to the front and my professor caught it with ease.

"Now as I was saying, you should use this tactic when facing this problem..."

The lecture ended without a hitch soon after. I hefted my backpack and walked out of the class with Rin. Man, I just wish I could take a break. I was studying Design for my future job, which was to design for a fashion company.

"So y/n, who else do you think we should ask to join our group for the fashion contest?" Rin asked me as we were walking down the stairs.

"... The what?"

"Oh yeah, you were in a daze just now huh?"

Rin explained that we had to design a piece of clothing as a four-person group for a contest, with the theme being Autumn Vibes. You can pick your group members, and they can be from other classes. As long as there are four people and a good design idea, you're golden.

"When's the deadline?" I asked.

"About a month from now."

God damn it. I'll be drinking coffee every night starting next week. There goes my free time to relax, huh?

"So obviously, we'll get Sakura on board with the two of us, if she's free. But what about our fourth member?"

"I don't know- OOP!"

At the bottom of the stairs, I accidentally bumped into someone because my eyes were not looking ahead. The folders in his hands dropped and some of his papers flew away.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" I quickly apologized.

He knelt down and quickly picked up all his papers on the floor. I desperately helped him with the papers and accidentally read their contents. It had notes and sketches from my previous lecture.

"Wait. You're with the Design class, too?"

"Yeah."

"I could've sworn I've seen you before... But I don't remember."

"That's because I sit in the back all the time."

The boy looked at me with droopy eyes and a tilted head. His hair was light lilac-colored and his eyes were a darker version of his hair color. His left earlobe had a black hugger ring with silver crosses.

"I'm y/n, by the way. And this is Rin. What's your name?"

"Mitsuya Takashi."

We walked to the campus library and chatted some more. Rin had another lecture to attend, so it's only me and him. It shouldn't be a problem since my classes are done for the day.
