"This is bullshit! I didn't kill anyone!"

Well not on purpose... my hormones killed her technically?

"Astrid, not another word."

A stalky yet pretty lady with the blackest hair came in and slammed her briefcase down on the table.

"Who are you?" Detective Crews asked eyeing her carefully.

"Elizabeth Ward. Her lawyer. I would love to know how you got permission to obtain shoes belonging to my client without a warrant?"

"We didn't need one. Her husband let us in voluntarily."

"Fiancé."

Crews smiled, " Its so confusing you know? When I initially met him he referred to you as his fiancé, but when we came back for the search, his wife. So sorry, if I'm mistaken. Fact is, we can tie her to the murder scene."

"I heard she was found with no head, like it exploded. Now tell me, how would my client could've done that?"

"Shotgun close range we suspect."

"Oh I see. Where's the weapon?"

Detective Crews pauses, "We have yet to obtain the murder—

"Blood on shoes is substantial and you know that."

"Because she was at the scene we can at least hold her for 24 hours. And we will... unless you have some more information you'd like to divulge Miss Daniels?

"My client is innocent and she's not changing her story."

I roll my eyes, "They don't think I did it. They never did."

"There we go." The detective clasps her hands together. "You're right. We all know Taryn is the one who killed Jamie—

"And you're using me to try to get him to confess? Shallow."

"Astrid—

"The fact is he didn't kill her, I didn't kill her. When we got there she was already dead. It was a bit of a blur after that due to the shock of finding someone like that. Bastard left the poor baby there. Alone. Then again, maybe she shouldn't have kidnapped her poor son from his father."

Mrs. Ward pulls out her phone. "You can try and hold her all you want. I'll have her out within the hour."

And indeed she did.

I expected my husband had posted my bail and was waiting for me.

He was not.

But my mother was... both of them?!?

"Umm, you two are together?"

"We'll explain on the way."

I hugged both of them quickly as we made our way toward the exit. My mother, Kat, handed me some shades and I slipped them on as we were bombarded by flashing lights. Multiple people were shouting different questions at me.

"Where's the murder weapon?!"

"What was your motive?!"

"Was your fiancé having an affair?!"

"Murderer!" A woman yelled at me just as I reached the car. "You murdered my daughter you bitch!"

I almost turned to her, but my mothers practically shoved me into the back seat of our car.

"Get us the hell out of here."

We were in a large town car with an even larger backseat.

"I don't wanna go home."

"Oh you're not going home. That place is swarming with reporters."

Mrs. Ward typed away on her phone while jotting things down on an electronic notepad.

"Beth is the best sweetheart, don't worry. She'll have these charges dropped in no time."

"Does she know?"

"That you're pregnant?"

"You're pregnant?!?" My mom, Liz, shouted.

"Umm... yes. I just found out, but I wasn't talking about that secret mother. I was talking about the OTHER secret." I grated my teeth.

"I've known your mother since we were kids. I know you're werewolves."

I nod, "If we're not going to my home then where are we going?"

"I have a suite prepared with very good security. We won't be disturbed. I also went ahead and got a few things from your home for you. Don't worry your fiancé wasn't home."

"Wow, you are an amazing lawyer."

"Since you're so amazing is there a way I can get a large steak. Preferably raw?"

My mom Liz made a sickening face.

The suite was very nice. Full kitchen, two and  a half baths, and three bedrooms.

"The suite is fully paid for up to a week. Stay as long as you want."

"Are you both staying with me?"

"I have to fill your father in, we'll talk in a minute."

My mom Kat disappeared into another room. When she was behind close doors my other mom pulled me into a different room.

"So you're pregnant?"

"Yes."

"And you weren't going to tell me?"

"I literally just found out mom. And I don't know if you've noticed but a lot has happened."

"You told her before you told me."

I groaned.

And so it begins...

"Technically mom told me. She's a werewolf like me who has been pregnant."

"Since when do you call her mom?"

I shrugged, "I didn't initially. We grew close. She knows how it feels to be me. She's the only one who knows how it feels."

Tears fell from her face and she wiped them away quickly. "She's taken you and your father away from me! When he came to get me from rehab he all but told me our marriage was over and then handed me divorce papers."

"She hasn't taken me, I'm still here. And as for dad, mom your marriage has been over for a while now."

"Yes because of her! She's always been in the back of his head. His "true love" I apparently was just a place holder until she returned to him."

"Mom don't do that. He loved you."

"Loved..."

She sighs and pulls me into a hug, "I hope you never have to go through this when you get married."

Kat opens the door abruptly, "He sold her out! She'll marry him over my dead body."

"Even though I'm a little upset over the situation. He didn't sell me out mom. All he did was cooperate with the police."

She shakes her head, "Please. I throw that ring right at his face."

"Well it wouldn't do any good."

"Why's that?"

I took my wedding band off of my necklace and put it on my finger. "Because, we eloped months ago. We're already married."

Well I guess the cat is kind of out of the bag? Both Astrid's moms' now knows she's married and pregnant. But how will Carian take this news? Find out when they have their explosive convo in the next chapter of him//i.
