ONESHOT - valentine's day 🔞

SOOBIN

I hum along to the soft pop music playing through the speakers while I wait for Danbi to come back from the bathroom. The bed feels warm now. I've been here a while.

"Baby, are you almost done?" I call out.

"Yeah, give me 5 more minutes!"

"Alright- we have to leave in 10 minutes!"

"Yes, bunny- I know!" she calls back.

I giggle and sit up on the bed and glance around the room.

I've gotten used to seeing her things next to mine. Her small gray sneakers next to my bigger black ones, her hot pink hairbrush sitting next to my stack of books on the desk. She's only been here for a week but I've already gotten used to seeing her sleepy face next to mine in the mornings, or catching her against the sunlight peeking at me over her shoulder.

What am I gonna do when she leaves?

"Binnie?" she says, popping her head into my room. I glance up from my phone and see a glimpse of the black dress she's wearing. "Can you pass me my jewelry box?"

"Um..." I glance around, looking for the small box.

"It's over there next to your glasses-" she says, pointing to the night stand.

I reach and grab the small leather box. Her initials, DBK, are embossed in gold over the beige leather. I get up and hand it to her.

"Thank you, bunny," she grins, leaning in to peck me on the lips. "I'm almost ready."

She starts to leave but I grab the door before she closes it. "Wait- let me see..." I push the door open and my jaw drops. "Baby... you look incredible-"

She blushes and glances down at the floor, clasping her hands together. "I'll wear a jacket on top, I know it's a little revealing..."

"No- it's fine- you look so beautiful-" I grin and take her hand. "You can wear the jacket if you're more comfortable, but I don't mind showing you off... come here-"

"Let me just put my earrings on-" she giggles as I pull her back into my room. "Soobin-"

But I don't let her go. I pull her in front of me and close the door, boxing her in between my arms.

"Soobin- I thought we had to-"

But she stops.

I press my lips on hers, kissing her deeply, breathing in her scent, feeling her warm body against my palms. She hums into my lips, draping her arms around my shoulders, her fingers wrapping around the hair on the base of my neck.

She giggles and relaxes in my arms as I pull away slowly. I reach my hand into the back pocket of my pants and look up at her, a wide smile on my face. "I want to give you something..."

"You do?" she mumbles, her expression growing nervous but excited as her lips curl up to a hesitant smile.

I grin and pull out a rectangular box, holding it out to Danbi. "Happy Valentine's Day, baby."

Her eyes go big, gazing back and forth between me and the small box in my hands.

"Ohmygod, Soobin-" she whispers, her lips curling up to a wide smile. "What is it?"

"Open it-"

I offer it to her. She takes it and glances at me for a moment before she opens the box slowly.

She gasps. "Soobin... It's so beautiful..."

I grin, noticing the glint in her eye as she looks up at me. "You like it?"
