The morning came and all the students were gathered in the great hall for breakfast and a couple of announcements.
Apparently, the graduation dance will be held sooner than expected, which was in two days. Juliette didn't have a dress for the dance. She wrote to her mom, asking for a dress. Her mom would send her the dress.
That day, a lot of students were getting asked by their crushes, or boyfriends and girlfriends to be their dates on the graduation ball. Juliette was pretty confident that Higgs would take her as the date.
Her dress came the next day. She unpacked it, there was a little note inside. Probably from her mother.
"Hi honey, i miss you. This was my dress that i wore for graduation dance. I hope you like it. I wish i could come and see you wear the dress, i wish i could see how beautiful you'll be for the graduation dance. But it's okay. At least you'll have fun, okay? Daddy and i miss you so much, honey. Have fun. Love, mom & dad."
She smiled. Juliette missed her parents a little too much now. She couldn't wait to come home and meet her parents.
Juliette opened the box and take out the dress. It was silvery white with lots of sparkles. The dress was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She could imagine how beautiful she would be like wearing the dress tomorrow. She couldn't wait.
Juliette went out from her bedroom and found Pansy in the common room. She was nervous. Walking back and forth. She came up to her and asked her what's wrong. Pansy was trying to find the right words to ask Josie to be her date. She wanted it to be special. Juliette smiled. Her bestfriend always worry too much.
Blaise and Draco also came to help Pansy formed the right words. Blaise and Draco already asked their girlfriends. So they were done. Secretly, Juliette was worried. By now, Higgs should've asked her. But he wasn't. Maybe he wanted to ask somebody else. Maybe it wasn't Juliette that he wanted. But it was impossible. Higgs had confessed his feelings. He had kissed her over and over again. Everybody knew that Juliette was his.
"Why wait for him to ask you? Just ask him yourself." Pansy said. She was right. A girl could ask a boy out. She did. So why didn't she asked him to be her date?
Juliette decided to follow Pansy's advice. She looked for Higgs. She found him inside one of the class. He wasn't alone. There was his friends too, Adrian Pucey, Marcus Flint, and Lucian Bole. She wanted to call for him but it felt impolite. So she decided to wait for him until he finished talking with his friends.
The door was opened a little, she could hear their conversations. She didn't want to snoop, so she stepped further.
"Come on, Higgs. You haven't fucked her?"
Her footsteps stopped. Her heart almost followed. Did she misheard it? What did they mean? She couldn't resist to snoop and listen closely to their conversation.
"The bet was simple. Fuck Juliette and we give you the money, man."
Juliette gasped. Their heads turned to her. She caught Higgs eyes. The tears were so close to fell through her cheeks but she hold it. She ran away as fast as she could. Higgs was following her behind. He called her name several times but she didn't want to look back. She didn't want to see his face. She was disgusted by him.
She went to the common room with the tears started pouring down through her cheeks. Her three friends were there sitting together. Blaise was staring at her. She caught his eyes, but she dropped it. She ran to her bedroom and locked the door.
Outside, she could hear Pansy then Blaise then Draco asking, more like begging, for her to unlock the door and tell them what happened. She wanted to tell them. She wanted to fell into their hugs so bad. But her heart hurts so much that it pained her to even just breathe.
She tried to stop crying, to unlock the door then tell her friends everything. But her head was so dizzy. She hit her head multiple times. She wanted to scream, so loud. She wanted to punch Higgs. She even wanted to kill him.
But in the end, she unlocked the door. Blaise was the first person to hold her. He tried to calm her and hug her, she fell to his embrace and cried even more. He asked her what happened, she gathered all the stregth she have left to breathe and talk. She sat on the sofa and finally told her friends about the things that she heard with her own ears. Repeating the exact same words made her heart ache.
Blaise lost it. He walked fast, trying to find Higgs. He wanted to punch him, he wanted to slap him, he wanted to kill him. Juliette followed him. Higgs was in the common room with his friends. He saw Blaise coming. He got up from his seat and wanted to say something. But he didn't got the chance to do so. Blaise threw a punch. He punched him over and over again until they both were bleeding. Juliette tried to stop them. She tried to hold Blaise. But Blaise Punched him even harder. There were lots of people in the commom room. Even Tom was there to witnessed.
"You. Fucking. Bastard. You. Hurt. My. Best. Friend." With every words that came up from his mouth, every punches flew to Higgs's face.
The boys were trying to stopped them. But they failed. Juliette was screaming and crying. Begging for them to stop.
"STOP. BLAISE. PLEASE STOP!" Juliette screamed one last time and Blaise pushed Higgs away.
Juliette grabbed Blaise's hand and pull him away from the common room. She begged him to go with her to the astronomy tower instead. Blaise still wanted to punch Higgs. To kill him for hurting his best friend. But when he looked into Juliette's eyes, he saw the pain behind her teary eyed eyes. He hold her hand and took her away to the astronomy tower.
She took a look at Higgs one more time. Disgusted and hurt. Then she looked around and her eyes landed on Tom. He was still there, staring at her. He wanted to run to her, but Blaise was already there to comfort her. So he let her go.
Pansy and Draco didn't follow them to the astronomy tower. They waited at the common room. They knew that the two of them needed some time alone.
