Clara was quiet all the way, staring out the window with thoughts. Chloe didn't want to interrupt, she has mix feelings herself. What if she doesn't like her new home? Or her new family?
"You don't want her! Believe me. She'll be trouble in your life!" the reflection read her thoughts.
"I can handle you. I can handle trouble." Chloe disagreed.
"You didn't handle me. I'm your subconscious!"
"And I welcome it." Chloe looked at her sling, thinking how many times she almost gave up in her journey. "You drove me to do my best!"
Arroway parked the car outside a big house, Chloe took Clara's hand, walking side by side until they reached the front door. There was a woman to greet them, she lowered herself to meet Clara's eyes.
"Hello, You must be Clara!" the woman gave a warm smile. "I'm Christi, Chloe's mother!"
"Hello Mrs. Lukasiak." Clara bit her lip. "Thank you for having me."
"Come! Let me show you your room! You're going to love it!"
