Chapter Ten: Not My Captain America

"Karli Morgenthau is too dangerous for you guys to be pulling this shit." You smirk as you watch John angrily parade towards you, Bucky, Sam and Zemo. 

"Ah! How'd you find us now?" Bucky says in fake excitement only feeling John's anger, you couldn't help but laugh.

"Come on. You think three Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?" He asked as you meet in the middle of the streets. "No more keeping us in the dark. You could start by telling us why you broke him out of prison."

"He did that himself . . . . technically." You looked at Bucky. 

"This better be an unbelievable explana..."

"Hey, take it easy before it gets weird. . . ." You glare at Walker. 

"I know where Karli is" Zemo adds to change the direction of the conversation.

"Well, where?"

"All we know is, it's a memorial. So, we're gonna intercept her there." Sam answers Walkers question. 

"That means civilians. High risk of casualties." Lamar queries. 

"All right, good, we'll move in fast. Take her by surprise." Walker says, you scoff at his ability to think he can just come in and take control. 

"No, Sam wants talk to her alone and we're not losing her again because you are a prat" you give him a snide smile.

"Look. . ." Sam takes control of the situation before you punch walkers lights out "the person closest to her died, she's vulnerable. Now is the best time to reason with her." You all start to continue walking until Walker comes running in front again. 

"What? No. Wait, no! No! Stop. Hold on. Stop, okay? I think we're way past reasoning with her, unless you forgot that she blew up a building with people still in it."

"Sam, you walk in there cold, she could kill you." Lamar says again, the voice of reason amongst the pair you feel. 

"If I go in hot and the op goes wrong, more people will die." Sam says matter of fact, Sam was everything you wanted America to be. 

"You'll let him do this?" Walker scoffs looking at you you just raise your brows to say yes. He shakes his head and turns to Bucky "Are you gonna let your partner walk into a room with a Super Soldier alone?"

"He's dealt with worse. And he's not my partner." Bucky gives a curt reply. 

"I used to counsel soldiers dealing with trauma, okay? This is in my wheelhouse." Sam says to Walker not backing down. 

"I know. And I know those soldiers, which is why I know this is a bad idea." 

"Wait, John. If he can talk her down, it might be worth a try." You open your arms to suggest 'ha see, there you go' At Lamar while giving a smile at Walker. 

"We'll deal with you later. . ." You weren't sure if Walker was talking to you or Lamar. 

"I'm sure it will all come to an agreeable conclusion. My associate is just up ahead." Zemo spots the young girl he'd spoken to earlier before walking forward to talk to her. "Hello, my friend. This is for your family. Can you show us the way?"

"What the hell?" You roll your eyes at Waker. 

"Karli's in there." You all start to follow Zemo, once inside Walker suddenly yanks Zemos arm and cuffs him to a water pipe. 

"Hey. You got ten minutes."

"Really?" You look at Walker with disgust as he locks Zemo into place.
