You're Invited

Chapter Thirteen: My Captain America

"I'm almost there. . . ." You hear Sam's voice crackle thought the comms as you and Bucky walk towards the building where the council were due to meet. 

"What's the plan?" You ask as you both walk though towards the barriers. 

"Karli's gotta be close. Keep your eyes open." you nod before realising he can't see you. 

"Well, it could be anybody." Bucky answers for you, you reach the barriers and the two officers stand to attention. 

 "Sergeant Barnes, Mrs Barnes" They nod allowing you in. 

"Wow. . .  wait hang on how did they know we were married?" 

"I may have let the news slip. . . ." Sams voice cuts in followed by  "And by the way, I called in some backup." You frown but in a split second you've span round hand hovering over your gun as someone touches your shoulder.

"Excuse me, are you supposed to be here?" You glare for a second before Sharron reveals herself, wearing a mask you'd seen Nat use before. 

"It's me."

"Sharon, what the hell are you doing here?" Bucky looks at her shocked. 

"Relax. No one's looking for me here." she says cockily as she follows you towards the building. 

"Do I hear Sharon?"

 "Unfortunately." Bucky mumbles making you smile. 

"Hey, Sam. I thought I'd get the band back together."

"Thank you. You're risking a lot coming here." He replies to her via coms.

" I hear pardons aren't all they're cracked up to be anyway."

"Depends on the therapist." You smirk at Bucky. 

"They'll move on the building soon. Be ready." Sam cautions, you check the ourskrist before meeting back in the middle. 

"Sharon, Bucky Y/N, what's going on on your end?"

 "Nothing. All quiet." 

"No one's moving toward the building" You say annoyed and then it dawns on you "Shit Sam. . . . .Karli's not coming in. She's trying to force everybody out." You say as you walk though the metal detector, it only beeping as Sharron comes though. 

"Oops." You roll you eyes before walking to join Bucky. 

"Here's one of them." 

"You take them, I'll get the evac." You nod and split with Bucky as Sharron goes off to do her thing. The plan was in action. "I'll call the guys, see where they are. . ." 

You walk though the building trying to convince them to start the evac. . . " Hey Marty, you all good, seen anything?" 

"Not yet. . . still clear . . ." Marty, Frank, Mickey and Sou were stationed on bikes around the building on look out. 

"Alright, I'll send you the comms frequency, let us know if you see anything." You say before hearing Bucky shout."Shit I gotta go."

"DAMN IT!!" You run to Bucky. 

"What?" Bucky tells you back to the call as you walk. 

"Seriously, Bucky, you had one job." You roll your eyes, as you jump on the bike behind him and you both speed out into the night.

 "The chopper's about to take off." You hear Sou's voice down the comms. 

"Bucky!" Sam's voice calls though comms as he hears the announcement.
