Be scared,
watch your back,
she's always watching,
they whisper to you.
Who is, you ask.
They hush you,
Don't say her name.
She's dangerous,
She's a threat,
Beware her stone eyes and cold heart.
Why, what did she do?
You ask questions but they silence you.
If they won't give me answers I'll find them myself.
Medusa, the ancient page reads, her beauty staring back.
Why do they hate you?
Silence,
Then...
Because they cannot be as powerful as me.
She materializes, snakes slithering across her head, eyes covered with a white cloth as she speaks to me.
They hate what they don't know,
They turn against those above them,
Their fragile mortality makes them feel powerless
I was no threat,
I did nothing wrong,
But they shoved me down the less.
Beware child, she says to me, when you are no longer useful they'll toss you aside.
Use you as a scapegoat and pick apart your brain.
And then...
They forget you.
