Sai felt like he was in a living hell.
Ever since that day Hikaru cried his heart out, he vowed to not play Go until Sai came back to him; little did he know that Sai was with him all along.
Sai felt that Hikaru’s actions were stupid. Why must he give up Go just to meet a ghost? Sai honestly felt that if Hikaru played Go he would ‘meet’ Sai. Through the simple transaction Hikaru refused to do would be the cure to Sai disappearance.
Sai could see Hikaru’s eyes constantly begging to play. Sai also wanted to watch many Go games despite the fact that he could no longer play. He knew that both of them couldn’t life without Go.
However Sai tried not to think too much because he knew all Hikaru needed was a few words of encouragement from a friend. It would be simple since all of Hikaru’s acquaintance wouldn’t stand for Hikaru quitting; Nevertheless, soon Sai noticed that it wasn't so simple. Hikaru constantly avoided all of his friends in their attempts to bring him back. Sai almost gave hope and thought that maybe Hikaru might really quit Go.
But one day, when Hikaru came home, both him and Sai felt a presence in the room.
Hikaru ran up to his room while thinking, Maybe…just maybe…Sai returned; however that couldn’t happen, after all Sai was always with him.
Hikaru slammed his door open excitedly while saying, “Sai?”
Hikaru’s eyes dimed when he saw it wasn’t Sai in the room.
He saw Isumi.
Hikaru dropped his back pack disappointedly and said, “Oh… Isumi-san.”
Sai saw Isumi’s determined eyes. He could tell Isumi was here to bring Hikaru back.
To bring him back to the Go world.
Sai was glad that Hikaru had a brotherly figure in this Go world that would bring him back to his trails. Isumi seemed to have a strong determined face the Hikaru wouldn’t be able to run from.
The ghost watched Isumi take a Go magazine from his backpack. He handed it to Hikaru while telling him that Akira is getting further and further away from him.
Hikaru gazed at the magazine in amazement.
“Wow, Akira is getting farther and farther!”
Isumi eyed Hikaru and said, “I see you are still interested in Go.”
Hikaru immediately gave the magazine back and said how he was done with Go.
“You’re quitting Go?! Are you serious?” Isumi inquired.
Sai jumped into the conversation, “I agree Isumi-san! He shouldn’t quit go!” Sai then looked at Hikaru and said, “See you should listen to Isumi-san.”
Isumi stood up and turned to the dusty Go board in Isumi’s room, “Shindou, lets play one match.”
As Isumi brought the Go board towards Hikaru, the boy started to defend himself, “Wait, I said I’m not playing any more! Leave me alone! Don’t bother with me.”
“Shindou…this isn’t for you. This match is for me. Its to make that game from that pro test complete.”
Sai nodded at the conversation. It seemed to be going in the right direction. Hopefully with this Hikaru will find him. The one place Hikaru can “find” Sai.
After saying no to Isumi many times Hikaru finaly said, “Fine…I’ll play.” Hikaru reluctantly says as he takes the go bowl from the board.
Sai, Hikaru starts to think.
