Because the king and queen wanted cassian, the crown prince to have friends, but no noble families volunteered.

The beast was getting nearer, he had no choice but to run.

Running as fast as possible with his injured leg, it was painful.

He felt the beast's growl getting nearer, he ran to a tree, a tree high enough to hide him from this beast.
