After Sonic refuses to let Mike, a average guy, take on Eggman in battle, the town turns against him for being insensitive. With anger, sonic takes revenge.
Sonic looked around. He saw modern buildings with many colors. It seems that he had been away for many years now.
Sonic then ran to the Volga river. It looked exactly like before. Except for the buildings and houses of course. Then Sonic noticed a Flag. A flag pole near the river had White on the top, blue in the middle, and red on the bottom.

Sonic never saw this flag before. Maybe he was in the wrong country? Well, it was too late. The boat had left Sonic and will be back in 3 weeks... So sonic still had a lot of time to spend here in Stalingrad...
Sonic: "Wait a minute... 'Volgograd'?
Sonic saw a sign near the port saying 'Volgograd'. Isn't this supposed to be Stalingrad? Sonic had many many questions... He had to find those questions himself.
He then went up the port and saw a hedgehog fisherman. He was sitting near the water dreamingly watching the horizon. Sonic sat beside him and the Fisherman friendly said "Privet!" Which means "Hello". Sonic greeted him back, and ask where he was.
Fisherman: " Why you're in Volgograd! Russia! You must be visiting!"
Sonic: "Yes, I am visiting this place. Haven't been here for many years... Isn't this place called Stalingrad?"
Fisherman: "Well. This was formerly named "Stalingrad" but when our former soviet leader Stalin lost power, the city was renamed Volgograd."
Sonic: "I see... And what flag is that?" (Points to the Flag pole)
Fisherman: "It's the Flag of Russia of course! The Russian Federation!"
Sonic: "But... What happened to the Soviet Union?"
Fisherman: "Oh the USSR? Well, it has already collapsed. Why are you even asking these questions? Everyone knows that"
Sonic: "Listen. I come from a very deserted island, where no news comes from the outside world. I and my family once lived in Russia in the 1940s. But when the war broke out, I fled to an unknown island.."
Fisherman: "so you came back to visit This place?"
Sonic: "Yes."
The fisherman's fishing rod then started to wiggle. He pulled it up and caught a Tuna. Sonic then said goodbye to the fisherman while he goes home. Sonic then turned and started to look for his old house. After searching for his house for 5 minutes, he finally found it. To his surprise, it looks exactly like before he left... Sonic walked up to his old home and saw that it was lit. 'Maybe someone is living here now.' Thought sonic. He knocked on the door and there was no reply. He knocked again loudly this time and someone inside said "Coming". Sonic didn't think much of it and waited patiently.
After what seemed like forever, the door finally opened. Sonic then saw an old female hedgehog in her late 90s. Sonic didn't think much of her, and said " I just came to visit this place because I once lived here-".
Before he could finish his sentence, the old woman then said "Sonic?".
Then it came to him. The old woman standing in front of him was... His mother... He was still alive!
"Mom?!" Sonic shouted. The two hugged each other tightly. Tears both fell from their eyes as they cried in joy. "Mother! I thought you were dead!" Cried Sonic, "Me to Son! Me too! I thought you had drowned in the sea!"
The two then settled, and Sonic's mom then invited Sonic into the house.
After listening to Sonic's story, his mother told him: "When you left, the Germans were driven back by the red army. We then volunteered to help our soldiers build trenches. I help build Tanks in the soviet factories. They were immediately sent into battle. Some unpainted, some lacked shells or scopes. The Germans then came back. And we luckily retreated to a safe place far away from the battle. I found a village not far away from Stalingrad. The Germans never advanced through Stalingrad because of the never-ending Red army. I lived there for a year. I could still hear the bombs and gunfire from a distance. Finally after a year of fighting. Our Red Army finally recaptured Stalingrad. Our home was still untouched by the bombs. Except for the whole town that is."
"So can you tell me what happened to the Soviet Union?" Ask Sonic, "Well, a lot of stuff happened. Fall of the Berlin wall, protest in Soviet-occupied countries, there's a lot. All I know is that our Former soviet leader 'Mikhail Gorbachev' resigned and the USSR collapsed in 1991... Life hasn't changed ever since. I missed the USSR a lot Sonic. Life was better than now."
Sonic stayed at his mother's home that weekend. He took good care of her because she was old.
Sonic would also check with his generals. He found out that the Blue Army's casualties are rising. The enemy now had strong weapons supplied by the egg man. The blue army advanced and retreated. It was like no one was winning this war.
It was nearly 3 weeks now. Sonic now had to go back to Bygone island. Sonic promised to come back to visit her every month. He would also phone her every week.
Sonic boarded the boat and watched his childhood town grow smaller and smaller. He watched until there was no more.
Sorry for not writing for many days lol. School had been bothering me and now my parent is giving me extra classes. I will try to write as fast as possible. Fank you for ur patients! :)
