Chapter VI, The first POW

Inside T-34/85 No.356

Ryan Wiped a sweat off his forehead.
He had been fighting Eggman's bots for 2 hours. Yet, he still managed to beat them. T-34/85 356 is the last surviving tank in this platoon... All his 20 comrade tanks were destroyed. They manged to survive, But his tank was badly damaged, some of his crew were injured, but not seriously. But even worse than that, he was running out of Ammunition... His tank has only 20 shells left, 15 High explosive shells, and 5 Armour piercing shells. It was a lot. But since he was stranded far from his comrades, the chances of winning against another horde of Eggman bots were unlikely.

James scanned the field around him. To the left was a deep jungle, to the right, more flat fields and hills.

Commander: "We need to head back to base! Our fighting tractor cannot last long enough"

James: "how's the fuel?"

Loader: "we still got plenty to zoom all around the island. But the engine is badly damaged. It cannot be repaired. We have to get back this thing back to the Hanger"

Commander: "Does it still works?"

Loader: "Yes. But since it's damaged. Our speed has decreased."

Commander: "well we better get moving before another swarm of those crab-like bots attack our tank"

James then started the engine. It made a crackling noise, then a loud rumble. Finally, the engine was back to life. Every 5 seconds the crackling noise would sound and then disappear.

The Wounded T-34/85 turned its's hull towards the jungle, then moved forward. It was going 3 times slower than before.

The commander peered through the observation device. Still nothing. He hoped and prayed that he and his men will get home soon.

Meanwhile, in the deep jungles not far from T-34/85 no. 356

Eggman: "here it is! MY LATEST INVENTION! The Panzer 3!"

Tails: "finally you're getting good at naming inventions. Where did you get that name anyway?"

Eggman: "well... (Secretly throws away a History book) it just came to me! I always think of random names sometimes :)"

Tails: "alright can we just see your invention now?"

Eggman: "Ok! This bot is meant to deal with Sonic's uh... Tanks... It can move off-road, has a cannon (30 Millimeters) has 30 Millimeters of iron armor."

Knuckles: "Hey! This looks like a cool tank! Why is it Called panzer 3?"

Eggman: "Well... (Starts sweating a little) I uh run some test on the Panzer 1 and 2 and they all failed. So I made the panzer 3 and it works perfectly! Yes, that's it!"
