Bashira's POV
The war has ended leaving my father's kingdom defeated. My father had to surrender to the OnuEfa due to the rapid slaughter of his armies and subjects. The Buffalo King came with army ten times larger than the Shendam soldiers and he came a day before the battle day ! What a cruel and cold calculating king he truly was. I hated him so much.
A lot of men are dead and a lot more injured from the battle. The soldiers fought bravely but were took by surprise and weren't fully ready. The bodies of the soldiers were constantly tolled into the kingdom as their families stood by the kingdom square to claim the bodies and bury them. With heavy heart, Saratul my handmaiden and I attended to the wounded soldiers and children in the emergency tents for days.
"You need to rest Princess you've been working so hard, Saratul said worriedly as we were washing the bandages in the nearby stream.
"These men risk their lives for the safety of the kingdom, I'm doing barely anything at all. I said and continued damping the bandages on a rock.
The nurses thanked us while we distributed the clean bandages in the tents. While leaving my eyes caught a strange man who sat beside a boy wrongly examining his temple. It was a funny sight as he was trying too hard to get it right. I walked over to the bed and sat down.
My heart skipped a beat about this strange warrior's features. He was so well built that any woman would die for his one look. When I told him how to check a sick person's temple, he gave the most enchanting nervous chuckle. Who was he? When I look into his eyes I shivered for a second as if lightning passed through me. Seeing his glow on his face and magnificent personality, he's definitely a brave strong warrior. The way he stared at me sends shivers down my spines. His mesmerizing dark eyes enchanted me instantly and I uncomfortably left the tent. But I'd love to see him again cause his strong manly aura has enchanted me.
"What are you thinking about!? Saratul asked while brushing the blood stain I got from dressing wounds on my hands and shoulders. I nodded still lost in my thoughts. When I was done, I participated with my five brothers , Jamal, Gamai, Shakur, Yusuf and Kamal in sharing foodstuffs and other shelter for people that their houses got burnt due to the war. I being the only female child of my parents loves to associate with my elder brothers and they loved me so much.
"You must rest now. Jamal said ordering saratul to take me to my chambers inside the palace after the distribution at the kingdom square. I went to see my father and mother said he had meeting with the OnuEfa and that made me so worried.
"What else does he want? I angrily spat.
"Don't worry my child, it might be a meeting to seal the treaty. Mother said calmly seated in her chambers with her maids Yaya Ramotu and younger maid Beli. Although she looked confused.
I retired back to my chambers and after tossing and turning, the mysterious man's face kept appearing to me until I dozed off into a deep slumber due to the hectic day I had.
