Steve came with Y/n to Pepper's funeral two weeks later. Dressed in a black dress with one arm around Steve's arm they walked in to the church. Pepper had a beautiful white casket, and she couldn't even count the flowers, she smiled, Pepper loved her flowers and she would faint if she saw all of these. Peppers parents greeted y/n and they all sat down waiting for the ceremony to begin. Y/n saw Tony a few seats back, he has staring at her and Steve, she hugged his arm a bit tighter and he laid an arm around her shoulders. No one knew about Steve except for her, Sam and Bucky, so Tony got furious.
She cried, of course, face red and cheek wet from tears. They left the church and Y/n and Steve were on their way to his car when Tony grabbed her arm, 'What is this now? You and Steve?' they both turned around and looked at him, 'Can we talk ALONE' he stared at Steve, Y/n nodded and he went to his car. 'We sleep together, kiss and now what?' - 'Steve? are you serious, he's like 109 years old or something!!' Tony crossed his arms, 'What about that girl huh?' she but a finger in his chest, 'This is your fault' she turned around and walked towards Steve's car, 'Y/n please! She is just my new assistant', she stopped and turned around, 'Looked like more', 'You didn't return my texts!'
When Y/n got home she had a million roses outside her door waiting. On a card it said 'Please can we talk?' she laughed, why would they? Y/n sat down in her shower, not being able to stand up from exhaustion, her legs were tingly, her knees up to her chin, staring down on her toes. She could stay just like that forever, she didn't want to face the world, or Tony. She can't be an avenger anymore because her powers are gone, Nat said that she could train Y/n to a mini black widow but she didn't know if she should, being in fights maybe means loosing more people, she couldn't take that again.
A week later y/n got her training clothes on and went for a walk, in to central park. There were people walking around, having minimal problems in their lives, not having to worry about their powers or anyone else's powers, or having to be in fights. Everything was normal a year ago, now it's not.
She saw Tony's car a few meters forward, she rolled her eyes and turned around to walk home again, but Tony was behind her, 'Oh sorry if i scared you' y/n stared at him, 'What are you doing here? are you stalking me?', 'What? no.. I just want to talk', 'Well I don't' the ground started shaking, Tony took his arm around her waist and looked around. 'be careful' he said and his suit came on, 'Why can't I never get a rest' Y/n rested her forehead on Tony's shoulder, the ground split under them, making Y/n fall down in the big hole while Tony's rockets automatically came on, 'Y/n!!!' he looked down and came after her, she screamed after him and reached out for his hand, he grabbed her and y/n held on to him tight.
It was the biggest earthquake New York ever had, buildings collapsed and the ground split in multiple places. They landed on a roof, 'I'm DONE!' y/n almost screamed when Tony let go of her, his mask lifted, 'I'm so stressed and there is ALWAYS something happening', 'Kiss me' she looked at Tony, chocked at his words, 'What? no.', 'Just kiss me please y/n' they looked into each other's eyes, she felt the tension, he did too. Tony got impatient and grabbed her, lips slamming together. She didn't fight it, it felt right.
'Be with me' he mumbled to her lips, 'What?', 'Yes! Be my girlfriend, move in with me, spend the rest of your life with me, i'm in love with you and i don't want to spend another day without you by my side!' - ' there I said it!' he talked so fast and were so nervous.
She smiled, it did indeed feel right, so why run from it?
'Yes'
