*Two days later*

I'm so lost in thoughts- thinking about Xavier hunting down vampires- that the "Ugh!" catches me off guard. I flinch looking over at a furious Emma. "You good?" Emma gives me a look I'm not sure how to decipher. "Do I look ok!?" she responds.

"Geez, never mind." It's best to give her a moment of clarity before she gives in and tells me what's wrong. Exactly three seconds later Emma sighs as I take books from my locker. "What is it." I sigh crossing my arms, shutting my locker, and giving her my full attention.

"The principal said that my progress with classes has been better because of the tutor,"  I furrow my eyebrows at her in confusion. That wasn't exactly a bad thing. "So?" She slaps her forehead in annoyance. How the hell am I supposed to know why it's a bad thing? I'm not a fucking telekinetic.

Emma can be the easiest and hardest person to read all at the same time.

"Well, now he wants me to keep the tutor for another month," Emma whines. "That sucks," Jacob- the level-headed one in our group- says walking up behind me. Today though, he chooses the wrong side by boosting Emma's ridiculous view of the tutor, by agreeing.

"Look it's only a month. be glad it's not the whole year." I say trying to make her feel better. She looks at me and breathes in calmly, nodding. "No, you're right..." When I know she's calmed down, I smile at her, the bell ringing at that exact moment.

Before we break ways I clasp onto their arms. "Well, I have to get to class, but y'all wanna go out for lunch after school?"I was trying to pass the day faster, and we all know why; Just one more sleep and I'd have my lifeline back.

However, the same shame washed over me at the thought of Xavier's reasons for being absent. I felt bad for not telling Emma and Jackson about everything but I promised Xavier I wouldn't say anything until they were ready. Even if it meant never.

As I took my seat in class, I glanced at the empty seat next to me. I missed him, and it had only been two days, but ever since he explained everything, I felt closer and wanted to be with him. Am I being weird about it? I could annoy him...

Do I?

"Davina!" My name getting yelled out brings me back to class...and to the stares from everyone else in the room. Giggles echo through the room. Whispers are shared. Looks are given.

"Yes?" I respond nervously, and I must've been spacing out for too long because I get a stern "Pay attention!"

"Yes sir..." I finally choke out. Then the annoying voice of my nemesis spoke up. "I cant imagine she got called out," She spits under her breath to her little minions. I scoff, turn around to the seat she sits in, and tilt my head at her. "Imagine not getting over yourself."
