Lia immediately ran back to the house and fortunately Eduardo was still there.

“Did you tell them?!” Lia yelled.
“Did I tell who, what?” Eduardo questioned.
“The faculty dean! He knows, he knows Samuel’s not living here!”
“Are you serious? Shit.” he furrowed his brows. “What are we gonna do?” he asked.
“I need to know who ratted me out! Did you tell anyone?!” Lia was panicking.
Eduardo stayed quiet. “Ummm...”
“Eduardo? Who did you tell?”
“I didn’t-” he began, “Ok, I did tell Mark, but he wouldn’t tell anyone. He doesn’t care because he is way too busy with The Facebook. They’re thinking about moving to California.”
“Are you serious right now? You weren't supposed to tell anyone, I could get expelled!” Lia shouted.
“You know I would get in trouble too, right?”
She hadn’t thought about that and felt stupid. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine, but I’m serious, Mark wouldn’t snitch, we’re best friends. He wouldn’t betray me like that.” He came closer to her and put his hand on her chin and lifted it so she was looking at him. “We’re gonna fix this.”
“Thanks, Eduardo.” she smiled. Her phone suddenly beeped again. It was from Samuel.

Samuel: They just emailed me and said that they’re gonna come over to the house at a random time this week to make sure that I’m living there. Call me!!

“We don’t have much time, they could come here anytime this week! What do we do, what do we do?" Lia looked up at Eduardo.
“Don’t panic, I know what to do now.” Eduardo calmly replied. “Call Samuel and tell him to bring some of his belongings, like clothes, pictures of his family, books, that kind of stuff. Then we’ll scatter them around the room to make it look like he’s living here. And you have to take all your stuff somewhere else. We just have to make it look like he's living here."

“Whoa, sounds great.” she replied. “You’re really smart, aren't you?”
“Thank you, now let’s start this” he smiled.

She called Samuel and they arranged it. He came over that night and brought some of his belongings and they put them around the house. His clothes in the wardrobe, his books on the desk, some of his favorite DVD’s by the TV, and even a tupperware with food from his home country in the fridge. They weren’t going to let all three of them get caught. Lia packed all of her stuff in a bag except the essentials, which she hid, and Samuel took the bag back to his place to hide it. When they were finished they felt quite proud. Eduardo and Lia were about to go to bed, and that’s when she realized they forgot one detail.

“Wait, what if they get here while we’re sleeping?” Lia said in the middle of brushing her teeth. Both she and Eduardo were in the restroom, he was shaving his face after he had taken a shower.
“Lia, you’re paranoid, they wouldn’t come knocking at our door in the middle of the night.” Eduardo grinned.
“No, I mean in the morning, we tend to sleep in,” she explained, “they’d find me sleeping in Samuels bed”.
“Oh, I get what you mean.” he replied and shaved the last part of his beard. “Hm.”

Lia finished brushing her teeth and put her hair up in a low ponytail to go to bed. She sat down on her neatly made bed. In fact, their whole room was always very neat. Even though Eduardo had a comfortable past, he took care of his part of the room and never left it messy, which made Lia want to keep her part clean too. Eduardo finished putting on after shave and joined her.

“I think I have a solution for that.” he stated without looking at her.
“You do?” she looked at him curiously.
“You could sleep in my bed if you want… Again.” he smiled at her, but kept breaking eye contact.
Lia laughed. “Why would that help?”
“I mean, if they barge in, I could hide you behind me, or just pretend you’re my girlfriend.” he leaned closer to her.
She laughed again. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”
“Oh, like you didn’t have both your arms and legs wrapped around me last night!”
“Whatever” she rolled her eyes. “That sounds like a good idea, actually.”
“I know right?” He stood up and picked her up from her bed bridal style.
“What are you doing?!” Lia yelped and hit his chest gently.
“I’m gonna tuck you in, what do you think I’m doing?”

He gently put her down on the bed and tucked her in. He put her on the side of the bed that’s closest to the wall and joined her under the covers, facing her. They just looked at each other for a moment.

“There’s not much space, is there?” Lia said to put an end to the silence that she wasn’t sure was a comfortable or uncomfortable one.
“There’s not.” Eduardo agreed and scooched closer to her.
“What if we spoon?” Lia suggested. “I mean, we would use up less space that way.”
“Good idea.”

She turned around to face the wall and he put his hand on her waist, his other under his head and scooched closer to her. She could smell his after shave.

“You feel so good, Lia,” he said quietly, “I wasn’t even that tired, but now I feel like I’m gonna fall asleep” he tightened his grip around her waist.
“Oh really?” his low voice turned her on a little.

They laid like that for a while, slowly getting closer to each other. Lia tried to discreetly back up into him but he noticed what she was doing. She didn’t even back in that much, but could still feel that he was hard.

“Oh.” she whispered.
“I’m sorry, I just-” he sighed. “I can’t help it around you, I swear I’m not trying to make you do anything you don’t want to do.” he said.
“Don’t apologize, it feels nice” she replied and he let out a deep breath.

He started rubbing his hand up and down her side. “I really hope our plan works out.”
“Me too, I’d hate to mess up your studies just because I couldn’t find an apartment.”
“Not just that,” he said, ”I like you living here. School has been more fun since you moved in.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Well, not when you were messing with Sean.”
“I’ll never not listen to you again, Eduardo, I’m so sorry for that whole thing.”
“It’s really fine, I’m just glad you’re okay.”

He pulled her in closer and she could feel him smiling. Her last memory of that night is him playing with her hair.
