When you're young, you get told a vast amount of stories and lies. From Santa Claus to the tooth fairy. If you're one of the young mentioned before and you're reading this, I'm so sorry you had to find out this way. And, even more so, I'm sorry life isn't what you originally thought it would be.

But then there's the other stories. The ones that unravel your thoughts like a plague. The ones you dive into as if it was an infinite ocean with so much to be discovered underneath; only to find it desolate of life, but enriched in imperfections that leave you with more questions than answers.

And I don't mean the one about that guy that got eaten by that whale. I mean, who are we kidding? There's no way that happened. And, if it did, there's even less a chance of him walking into a pub afterwards and being like "guess what just happened" and having people actually believe it.

I'm referring to the story of my parents - the even more unbelievable and unrealistic tale of supernatural romance against all odds and blah blah blah. The story I know that you know all too well.

Who would have ever thought something like that would be more fact than fiction? Sometimes I don't believe it, and I'm a part of it. A big part, I guess you can say. You know that part of the story where they have a miracle baby? Well, hear me out, what if said miracle came as a package deal? One with, unfortunately, no return address or receipt. Now that story, is absolutely unfathomable, right? Until it isn't.

All I'm saying is, every story is more or less than the sum of its parts. Only you get to decide which.

"Drop me off here."

Alice sighed, "We're a mile awa-"

"Okay, and?" Elizabeth rolled her eyes. "It's the first day at a new school! If I associate myself with you, it's social suicide."

"Won't people notice-" Jasper was cut off.

"I'll pretend to be a foreign exchange student. Now, let me out of the car!"

Alice reluctantly unlocked the car door for her niece, who jumped out the second she could.
