『 Hey...thank you for looking out... 』
"No, that's too formal." You shook your head as you deleted what you had typed out. You sighed as you ran a hand through your hair. You had no idea how to properly thank Tengen or how to even properly ask him for more information about Yoriichi's uncle. His police records had no sign of his real name and you wanted to get to the bottom of why.
Why had he changed his name? Did Tengen know about the affair? Did his dad know about the affair? Was that maybe the reason why his father left the yakuza and took a deal to be a police officer? Did Shinobu's family maybe have anything to do with that?
So many questions filtered through your hair as you stared at the message that you failed to send out to him after what was a literal week. You had come up on your last day of being at the cabin mansion. Things were surprisingly not as tense as you thought they might've been, but you could tell Yoriichi was upset about how things managed to come to light. No other sexual advances had been made since and you honestly had no qualms about that.
If your almost fiance wasn't feeling well, why should you try to initiate anything?
"What are you up to?" His voice in your ear now and you froze mid text.
His chin leaning against your shoulder. "Hmm, Tengen, huh? 'You're in great hands'. Interesting. Were you trying to thank him? Possibly do some digging?"
His arms were around your waist now as he gathered your shocked expression. The smug look on his face was starting to make you feel hot.
"And if I was?"
"I certainly don't encourage it. I also really would appreciate it if you would hold off on things like we promised." He mumbled pressing open mouthed kisses on your neck and you involuntarily melted under his serene touch.
"Sorry..." You breathed out, setting your phone down, but he was already stepping away from you and on his way to the kitchen to continue the lunch he was preparing for the both of you.
"Nothing to be sorry about." He replied casually as he stirred the tomato soup he was preparing.
You got up and made your way around the counter as you stepped beside him. "Are you upset with me?"
"Taste this for me." He blew on the wooden spoon and placed it to your lips.
And as per usual, it was exquisite. He always knew what he was doing and he was always meticulous as hell about it.
"It's really good." You smiled at him and he went back to stirring in some more ingredients and then to chopping up red onions.
He paused for a moment and took a small breath and then glanced over at you. "Listen, I love that you're trying to help, but,"
He stepped towards you, closing the small space between you both and cupped your cheeks. "Like we agreed to before, we would leave everything after the trip. If you want to ask Tengen about things, I'd rather see him in person."
You raised a brow at him. "Are you, are you jealous, Yoriichi?"
He looked taken aback by you. "Jealous?"
"Yes, you know," You put your hand on his chest and fiddled with the fabric. "When you're possessive or overprotective of things that are yours."
Your eyes flickered up to his and his maroon gaze was heavily set on you. "Then maybe I am a little jealous."
His arms tugging you close to his body and lips were only millimeters away from yours. "Because you're mine. Not Tengen's"
You swallowed your saliva as he pressed a longing kiss to your cheek leaving you unbearably hot and bothered. You whined under his touch and he chuckled, pressing a quick kiss in the same spot before going back to his food prep.
