Finishing the project was probably the most normal and mundane thing about your stay in your newly shared apartment. Yoriichi was much more cool, calm and collected, but he would banter with you every now and then to keep it interesting. Somehow though, he always made you feel like you were flying. It was hard not to sneak peeks at him while you two were working in your comfortable silence, and he definitely noticed.
"What do you want for lunch?" He mused as he added the finishing touches to the project.
"Mmm, I don't know. You're the master chef." You retorted playfully as twirled your pen around your fingers.
You could see only the hint of a smile on his face as he formatted the slides. "How does soba sound?"
"Ooo, actually that sounds really good right about now." Your mouth was already watering at the mentioning of it.
"Okay, just do me a favor and post this on the discussion board and I'll get started."
"Oh, you're finished?" You sat up waiting to take over.
"Yes, try not to mess it up." His voice was even as usual, but you could tell there was a sliver of teasing in his tone as he got up from his seat and walked over to the kitchen area.
You couldn't help but ogle his form as he walked away. His tattoos and those arms were just drool worthy. Hard to believe that he was yours. Like actually yours?? You know, despite not even having shared a first kiss, yet, but you know who's keeping track, right?
As you turned back in your seat to start uploading the project, you already heard Yoriichi get to work in the kitchen.
What a man.
If you had to get stuck with marrying anyone you're were so glad that it was him. You went to reply to other discussion posts as you had to comment on three others and provide a pretty lengthy critique. You didn't mind though since he had already done most of the project.
You finally hit post on the last one and the delicious smell of soba hit your nostrils and you felt like you were being carried by the scent.
"Hungry?" He asked cutting up scallions and looking up at you.
"Hell yes." You replied leaning against the island and looking over what was brewing.
"Well, I'm pretty much done. Just adding the finishing touches, so you can sit down and I'll have it out in a minute." He tossed the scallions into a side dish and gave you small smile.
"Aye, aye captain." You made your way to the table that was situated in front of the large panel windows.
You had a tendency to forget about the view he had. It was quite beautiful. The city skyline was amazing, but you felt a twinge of sadness. You kind of missed your old apartment.
You heard the sound of clanking on the table behind you. "Lunch is served."
It was a comfortable silence for like this morning, but it felt like he was edging on a question that he didn't know how to ask you.
"Do you have something you want to ask me?" You broke the silence.
He took one big slurp and chewed on his noodles before he softly chuckled. "Yes, I do actually."
"Well?"
"Well," He looked down at the leftover broth in his bowl. "I was wondering if you would be okay with a mini getaway. Things are particularly tense right now, I realize. Going on vacation is the best way to get to know somebody in my opinion."
