↬ "I have a love-hate relationship with this job." You were thinking as you were sitting up on the edge looking at the wall ahead of you. Your morning alarm went off for the 3rd time, making you more irritable.

It was Monday, meaning you had your vet clinic internship and classes later on today. You woke up later than usual, so now you were going to be rushing.

You hurried and got out of your daze and went into your bathroom to do your facial routine and brush your teeth.

It wasn't going to take you long to get ready as you went in your closet to put on your (f/c) scrubs and a pair of comfortable sneakers.

The clinic allowed you to bring Rudy with you to work, so you went to put on his harness and his leash. You were glad you could bring him, otherwise, he would be alone all the time.

Looking at the time, your eyes widened and you quickly grabbed Rudy running out of the door locking it behind you.

You placed him in the back seat of your car since he was so huge and took up a lot of space. You then went around to get into the driver's seat and started the engine.

Your phone connected to Apple Carplay and Siri announced you had 2 unread notifications through your radio.

Since you didn't like being on your phone while you drove you asked Siri to announce the messages to you.

Siri: "2 messages from my love"

"Goodmorning butterfly, have a nice day at work."

"I love you."

"Would you like to reply?"

You replied to Tengen's message with

"Mornin' handsome, I love you too."

And with that, you continued your peaceful drive to work with Rudy hanging his head out the window.

You were walking into the door with Rudy in hand, you let him off the leash since he would greet customers at the door.

You then went into the break room to set your bag down, and then go to where the animal kennels getting greeted by the other boy who also was doing an internship.

His name was Averett, he was sweet and very flirtatious. He was about 6'2 with curly brown hair, blue eyes, with light freckles going all over his face. He gave off a skater-boy vibe.

"Good morning, darlin"

You chuckled, "Averett I already told you to cool it with the nicknames."

"Just being nice, anyways doc wants us to do a work up on the litter of 5 shar-pei puppies that just came in."

You squealed in excitement, you loved all animals, but dogs held a special place in your heart. Plus who doesn't love puppies?

"Alright, sounds good to me! Let's go."

You and Averett made your way to check up room 1, and there sat 5 puppies on the table all whining.

"So adorable."

"Alright darlin, lets divide and conquer these 5"

You gave him a glare, earning a chuckle from him.

You both divided between the puppies, Averett was on one side of the table while you were on the other side close to the counter and cabinets.
